Known bugs/issues with latest X7 firmware

Gapless playback and more audio improvement

Thanks @mochill - I've tallied your vote for gapless playback.

BTW, right now I'm not tallying requests for new/additional features. I consider lack of gapless playback a bug/issue, since the X7 did support gapless (it actually worked at one point), then it broke, then it wasn't officially supported anymore. So, to me, that's still a bug ;-) I know there are lots of other features we might want (e.g., further improvements in audio quality, ReplayGain, etc.), but I'm not (for now) including features that weren't originally advertised/functional features of the X7. I don't want people to think I'm just ignoring their requests.

Here's the official list of changes in FW3.0.12beta:

1. Fixed issue where the system might falsely give the notice "Sorry, exception occurs.." when powering off or restarting the player;
2. Fixed issue where the tracks under an album were played in incorrect order after clicking the play icon beside the album to play it;
3. Fixed issue where the DLNA playback might fail in some cases;
4. Fixed issue where if skipping through ISO tracks, FiiO Music might repeatedly play the beginning of the tracks;
5. Fixed issue where the player might restart automatically when playing through USB DAC;
6. Improved the algorithm of shuffle play (play in random mode);
7. Improved the play through folders function;
8. Miscellaneous bug fixes.

Nothing earth-shattering there, but there's some exciting news as an addendum:

Note:
1. The gapless playback function has just passed the preliminary tests, and it's estimated to be added in the next update.
2. The X7 has now officially obtained the aptX license.

Gapless playback next week! :-)

I've got a strange problem that I've only just noticed with 3.0.12beta. Certain tracks are playing, but producing total silence. These are just standard 44/16 FLAC rips from CD, for example:

Can anybody else hear Pink Floyd in the above, or are you also hearing silence on your X7s? ;-)

These same tracks used to play on older firmware (and play on 3rd party music players like Rocket & Neutron).

P.S. Curiously, the X7 plays the ALAC version of the above track just fine. But for some reason, it doesn't like my FLAC files.

I discovered if you play the non-scanned non-playing tracks from ES file manager on the x7 with fiio music player it addes them without the artwork and playes them....... try it as a work round.

That's a useful thing to know - thanks! Unfortunately, it didn't help in this situation. I suspect something is up with my FLAC rip of Obscured by Clouds, but it's curious how it plays with 3rd party music apps.

I get these two error messages when checking the file:

perhaps you could upload a copy of the WAV file to your dropbox then I could try different apps to see if it produces a flac without error message?
