Maybe my daps aren’t good enough for HP3...

I like HP3 more than Focal Clear, Hifiman Ananda and HD800 that I sold, maybe If I’ll buy an Arya or HE-5se I’d search a desktop dac/amp with 2-3W like Lyr3

Crinacle just launched his Headphone ranking with 53 entries. The HP3 is number 51 with a D+ rating... "Lots of bass bloat, way too thick-sounding and lacking definition."

The Sony MDR-Z1R is number 50 with a C-.

I certainly can't agree with the HP-3 ranking, especially in relation to some of the other headphones, but is interesting reading one guy's opinion/ranking on so many.

HP-3 and RME ADI-2 DAC FS is a fantastic pairing. The ADI-2 has one of the best SE outputs I've heard on a DAC/Amp.

after a few hours (20/30) of listening I can say the following:
At high volumes I find it very difficult to listen to the bass. I perceive it distorted and without an adequate presence. With perfect engravings it goes better. Instead, the central and upper part is superb but always with excellent engravings, otherwise I find everything a little mixed ".
At moderate volume it is definitely better in every respect.
With the tube it goes a little better. The music takes on more body and the highs are softened which, otherwise, are a little tiring. I could listen for hours ...
always on condition that you do not overdo the volume.
As for the size of the scene, nothing to complain about.
I have the feeling that the headphones do not tolerate "significant" powers.
Obviously they still have to burn and I also believe that with a balanced cable the situation is better.

Hi everyone,

This is Tung, I am new here. I’ve spent my last 3 days reading everything about the HP-3, including reading most of the pages of this quite big thread since morning :)
And I’ve decided to humbly join the HP-3 fan club! However since I live in the UK, the price for a new one is very high. So I wonder if anyone here would want to sell his HP-3 or have a good tip for a shop with good price that ships to the UK, London? Your help would be very appreciated!
*I know there’s a trade/sell forum, but since I am new I can’t create a request post there.

btw, what do you guys think about the:
Ultimate One Headphones from KLH

they look very similar to the the HP-2 that were supposed be released alongs side with the HP-3. However the HP-2, HP-1 were ultimately axed by the Klisch management, as well as the whole developement of high end Klipsch headphones.
