KingSound KS-H3?

Yep! M-10 is the one to get IMHO. Listening to it again & it's VERY GOOD with the H3 headphone. Switching back & forth with the Fostex TH900 off the Oppo HA-1 in balanced mode from same source, Sony A17 & I prefer the H3 on most songs. I love my 900s so that says a lot for the KS. Who knows it could break tomorrow, but right now it is some of the best money I've ever spent valuewise for what I'm hearing. Not that it matters a lot but the H3 in Silver/Red is really nice looking & among  my most comfortable headphones.

And NO I don't work for King Sound, had never heard of them before about 2 months ago. Heard them at a meet & that was that.

Opps here I go posting again. Well this is probably - almost surely (???), my last post (here)!!!!

Would have preferred the black with yellow ring ear pieces myself--and the black M-10.

I agree. I prefer the M-10 based on a brief comparison. The comfort is among the best headphones I've tried. I wear glasses and am very picky about headphone fit/comfort. Also, the silver/red is to my taste too.

Someone asked earlier if the STAX 009 is 5x better. I can't answer that, but I have a STAX 009 in my main system, yet I still enjoy my KS-3/M-10 in my home office frequently. The STAX is much better (of course!), but the KS-3/M-10 combo has a tube-like sound that I find very pleasing for extended listening while I work. I tried the KS-3 from my STAX amp and it sounded thread-bare. Not sure what conclusions to make from that.

I'm now driving my M-10 from my new Geek Pulse Xfi DAC with excellent results.

Perhaps you can elaborate a bit more on how it sounded on the stax amp or try out the 009 on the m10?

I'd be happy to give the KS-3/STAX combo another listen and post in more detail, when I get a chance. However, I have been warned not to use STAX headphones with the M-10 due to the lack of a resistor. I think it was discussed earlier in this topic.

Lack of a resistor on bias output?

I sure hope that resistor is in the headphone then. Why on earth wouldn't they have the resistor in the amp like in the stax amps? Already got zapped 3 times on my T1

I was just being stupid, though

Would it matter? No, was just fiddling around with a crude diy 'stat panel. Getting shocked by the bias output isn't much worse than a static discharge anyway. One could potentially get in trouble with the r/l +/- outputs, though.

Anyone with the H3 had a chance to try the Stax SR-407 with either the SRM-006TS or the SRM-323s? Or even if you did a lot of research on these models and have anything to summarize.

Thanks.

Not a lot of research.
Compared SR-407 w/507 pads to H-03 with the Woo WEE and preferred the KingSound.
With this particular amp pairing, the Stax sounded hard in the upper midrange.  The H-03 were more "natural", balanced, detailed and transparent to my ears.
