I've not tried pad rolling yet, still using the gel pads that were already installed on my (used) Kennerton Gjallarhorn JM Mk2.

But I did first replaced the stock Kennerton cable with Wywires Platinum cable, and wow, there is a significant (and pleasant) improvement to the overall sound quality, more open and airy at the top end (with a tube amp), and more detailed, along with more impactful bass! And I strongly feel that there is no need to spend more in after-market cables (i.e. diminishing returns) than the Wywires.

Man, these are something really special. I don't know how to describe it but it gives me a similar reaction the LCD-R did.

It seems very relaxed, fairly detailed, and like youre in the center of the music (maybe lush is the word I'm looking for)?

Anyone hooked one of these up to speaker taps? I'm guessing its doable but way overkill?

Definitely overkill. Great thing about these headphones is that they're not terribly hard to drive properly and aren't overly amp-picky.

I didn't know that @John Massaria has other Kennerton models "officially" modified (with "JM" added). Are there any more models with JM edition label?

I’m aware of three (Vali, Gjallarhorn, Rögnir planar). Not officially sanctioned by Kennerton but good enough for me. Not clear if he has a Rögnir dynamic mod. I don’t own the RD so didn’t ask. Lately he’s been working on tweaking Hifiman dynamics.

The Vali's bass is much tighter and controller but still just as present and powerful with out bleeding into the mids. The Rognir Dynamic went from only focousing on the mids to be a much more balanced headphone, tonally. I will eventually write a review on both.

It still has the stock pads on it, though the gel pads he sells are the great on it too. As far as I know, he changed the damping material and added his fractal fiberglass material to the front of the driver.

Sounds like what he did with RPs.

Alright I guess I'll look into Woo Audio over quicksilver since I still want a tubey sound, and not a neutral sound. Thanks for the guidance

I use with Gjallarhorn GH50 Jm, Sony wm1z- mod according to Nayparm. Balance output. If necessary, I activate the equalizer. Sony does it very well.
