Waiting for the ecl-02 pads but it hard for them to leave mother Russia, been sitting at customs for over a week now. Compared to the excellent service ups is delivering the ems system is a waiting game.

What are the two ear pads that come with Thekk? I’ll purchase eml-02 if I don’t have it.

My Thekk (SN 001) came with the ECL-01 pads (with large perforations) in stock, as seen in this photo below.

I believe that the Thror is delivered both with the ECL-01 pads + ECl-02 pads (usually optional with other headphones)..

The ECL-02 pads (with small perforations) are a priori optional with the Thekk: their price is attractive and could suit some people attaching more importance to the level of bass and sub-bass, more than the aeration of the sound.

Can I ask what DAC and AMP is everyone using and what Kennertons do they own ?
Me:
HPA- Ray Samuels Apache, Pass WHAMMY
DAC- TOPPING D90 and soon to be Okto Research DAC8 Stereo
FIIO Q5s - need suggestions
Kennerton: Gjallarhorn GH50 JM Edition, Gjallarhorn GH50 Mod, Thekk, Wodan (owned), Magni (owned)
I only have a Kennerton Gjallarhorn GH50 at the moment, but I'm loving what I hear. For fans of a darker signature, they are a great fit! :)

I have 2 main sources, a Schiit Gungnir Multibit feeding a Schiit Mjolnir 2, and a Chord Hugo 2.

Hi all.

Who is really John Massaria ? :)

Answer (in Russian) :

Из новинок kennerton m12s
это грубо говоря версия magni на титановом драйвере
и кроме материала мембраны разницы не имеющая
Да она уровнем попроще но и значительно дешевле
Появились Gjallarhorn и GH jm edition
Первые по настоящему рупорные наушники с хорошей изоляцией
и отличной(для закрытых ушей) сценой
И jm edition для эстетов от мира звукозаписи

Это модификация которая меняет тоналку
Сделал её самый первый покупатель John Massaria

Kennerton Audio Equipment 20
Gjallarhorn-GM-Edition-Dusk-6.jpg

Gjallarhorn JM Edition 20
JM Edition is an acoustic modification of Gjallarhorn headphones, which was made by John Massaria, one of the first owners of Gjallarhorns.

Для России делать ее мы не планировали но народ начал спрашивать ее
А т.к. по цене мы не делали разницу между обычной и этой версией
то по запросу могу отправить и её.

From the same source, we learn that the Covid is wreaking havoc in Russia and damaging its economy (just like in France, alas ...).

More optimistically, we also learn that Kennerton is about to release the ultimate IEM (In Ear Monitoring headphones) probably a planar, very capable.
... to be continued ...

My 17 year old son owns my / his Thror!
... and he makes great use of it for composing music on MuseScore.:)
The look on his face suggests 1 of 2 things -
  1. Dad, give this to me! Pleaseeee?
  2. Dad, get me 1, too. Christmas is just around the corner, you know?
Good luck.

Hi.

For the little story, the other "Look on his face" (posted on the wall in front of my son) is an 'Enderman', a very disturbing character of the world famous Minecraft game, and has the particularity to attack you if you look at him in face.

And this character says in French in the bubble-written text "je vous ai à l'œil" (I have you in my eye).

My eldest son, student of Terminale at the Lycée (year of the baccalaureate) is an artist who divides his time in 3 times :

School work: here revising English grammar.

The artistic creation, be it the drawing, like the funny character with the commentary "Bougie bougeante" (moving candle) who actually illustrates the scores of some of his music compositions created on the computer (via the MuseScore3 software).
Or the composition of music scores with here the last composition visible on the first picture gathering 4 voices (4 instruments): a bass tuba, a trumpet, a transverse flute and a triangle, in a kind of jazz with slow tempo, while waiting for a future score on a faster tempo.

The video game.

My eldest son (just like his younger brother) is not to be pitied.

For his 17th birthday, 6 months ago, he received a KORG KRONOS 61 workstation, the same as the one we see in Nightwish's Live concerts with keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen.

For his music compositions and listening, he adopted my Kennerton Thror headphones instead of the Kennerton Magni V2: he is the main user; I'm content with the Thekk for my personal listening.

To play video games: in addition to a very good mouse and a mechanical keyboard steelseries, he received, with a little advance (for the Christmas holidays) a PC Gamer MSI Trident X, with three uses: video games; music composition; teleworking with his high school, 1 week out of 2 (because of Covid): split classes (half high school class, half home).

In short, he is a very reasonable young man with a very good distribution of his time, between work and relaxation: games, drawings and musical creations. :)

Nice! Glad to see the family taking interest in each other's hobbies/activities. :)

My dad.. well, he used to work for Audio-Technica during my formative years, so he literally taught me about good sound. So yeah, "thanks" dad. :joy:

On a side note, you appear to be one of the few who has had experience with the Kennerton Magni. @Mhog55 is actively hunting for impressions of this headphone. Maybe you could help him with that?

@eric65 where did you say I have to sign to be your son?

You know, what my son is fortunate enough to have at such a young age may be what I would have dreamed of having at the same age ....

I offer him the opportunity to train his ear to the "right sound" and to develop his creative abilities with instruments that are normally more in the domain of acquisition of confirmed adults.
