I clearly heard sibilance with the akg 701. ps-1's and akg340's did not have this accentuated sibilance on the same system. If you want a somewhat similar presentation without sibilance look at the senn hd650.

If you guys want to hear really bad sibilance listen to nickelback's the long road album, the second half of Saturday Night's Alrigh is just painfull

I hear it on my K701s with 60 hours on them. Play some Coldplay and you should hear it.

Is there less sibilance than your DT880s?

My DT880s do not exhibit as much as when I first got them. The AKG may be slightly more sibilant right now but I have not fully burned them in yet.

All of my other recordings sound fine although I experience bass distortion on some Madonna tracks. This may be the result from not driving them properly (Probably is). I am using just my X5 right now to drive my AKGs. I have a GS-1 coming very soon. That should be able to give my cans proper juice.
