I have Seen a lot of AKG K-701 For Sale on the Second Hand market here at Head-FI, and it makes me wonder why would so many people do that ?
From what I read it is a very good headphone, from comfort to Sound Quality.
than what's the reason then ?

That's what always happens after a flavor of the month. Same thing happened to the SA5K about a year ago, and I know others since then too have gone in and out.

I think given the short supply of these things, a lot of people were forced to buy them from places that didn't give you 30 days.

A lot of people just want to try them out. If they like them, they keep them, if not, they sell them at not a huge loss. It is kind of like leasing the headphones for a few months.

. Then they realize they are not using them enough, realities settles, and off they go to a good home...

Honestly, they are good cans. I felt they did many things right, but I have other cans that do those things better to my ears (albeit such cans happen to be much more expensive).

When you rent a car you find it disgusting ?
I think the rent should be weighed by the Headpohne's price, so People who just wnat to try low cost cans wont have to pay too much $$, and people that are going to spend a lot of $$ on cans allready, just pay more and will save the headache of "what to get" and where to get it and so on.

With headphones you get people with their sweaty/waxy ears. With cars it's a little different. A better comparison would be renting underwear

But people buy used so...
