Is there another way contacting him. Miguel I know you and Ron from the Ft. Myers Florida meet highly recommended his services on the re-cabling of the K1000.

The SAC K1000 amp is readily available and still being manufactured.  I just picked mine up a couple of weeks ago.

I used Richard Land at Land Audio out of Nashville to recable mine with the Stefan Audio art cable.  He did excellent work.  I just had the cable and phones shipped directly to him.

Did it ever become clear whether or not AKG can rework a later serial numbered pair to the spec of the earlier ones and, if so, how much it would cost?

also own the AKG Audiosphere BAP-1000 !!!
Together they are a great High-End SET!!! The sound is amazing and unbelivabel !
The only way to listen to music like a realistic auditory perspective when listening through headphones.
The music no longer plays inside your head but seems to come from the room, as if listening to a real orchestra!
LOVE IT!!!
