I have a pair but I'm not telling anyone what number they are! Ha ha! You'll just have to guess!

Err, in other words, I just don't "get" these types of threads where everyone reports what number they have, especially considering there were 12,000+ pairs made. It's not like they're an extremely rare commodity.

Aah I was this close getting a K1000: | |

There was a good looking babe for about 200 euros in german eBay. The auction ended about hours ago, I bid €800 in the last minute but there was another bidder who had bid the same amount earlier. I could have bid for €805 again but as this was going to be my first bought from eBay and the interface was in German that I don't know a word, I didn't get it.

Hi, have a query for you guys - how much would a brand new unopened K1000 fetch?

Probably around $1,500.

But it really depends though, who sell it and where.
Cause just some months ago a swede scored a NOS pair locally for $330 shipped, then sold it here at Head-Fi a week later for $1600 (or thereabout).

I'm in!

These things are great! But I need to play more with different amplifiers. Has anyone tried Vincent Spark II for the K1000? Its really cheap (less than $200), so I was thinking that maybe it could work as a nice budget amp for the k1000.

Checking in...not here yet... but on the way....

I must say I think i'm more excited about this phones arrival than any other previous ones.

The simple fact of trying numerous speaker amplifiers is pretty appealing to me as I rather enjoy that kind of experimentation.

I have had the amplifier I intend to use them with for a looong time(puchased with the K1000s in mind)
It's a 300B amplifier built by Gabriel Velez incorporating a beefy Hammond power transformer (maybe changed eventually) and using One Electron output transformers. At first i'll be using some EH Gold 300B's but have no doubt that in time a pair of WE will find there way into the amp.

I will be using an Electra Print transformer based attenuator.

I have high hopes for the combo, but will probably experiment just for the fun of it.
