I was just going back through some of my posts on another forum. And it looks like I only started listening to Kpop in a rather serious way sometime in middle of 2014. So there are probably several good years of material by lesser known artists that I would never have heard. The first video I ever posted online was this one by miss A...
And that was followed by a number 2NE1, 4Minute, AOA, and other popular artists from around that time. Including some early Mamamoo, which had just come out. Prior to that, it looks like I was mostly listening to Latin music, and some music from eastern Europe, especially chalga.

I'll have to spend some time going through many of these suggestions with my daughter though she would know them all. She is literally an encyclopedia of KPop and a little JPop, although less with JPop as she didn't find the caliber as high as with KPop. She was also into Japanese City Pop for a while.
