JVC HAR-X700 and 900. Two of the best dynamics? Am I nuts?

Ugh, I hate this site. I just ordered a pair to see what the craze is about. My poor, poor checking account

Well the pads has a thin layer of cloth that covers the felt and the driver inside.

okay so I ordered the rx-700 4 days ago for $45 (with tax because I live in NJ and newegg has a factory here?)

and I checked buy.com and they just got it in stock for $33.99.......

Is there anyway I can get a price match or a refund or did I just lose $11?

Listening to my pair now. About a month ago, I started having trouble in one ear; a wire was coming loose. After taping it and having the tape come loose over and over again, I got out the soldering iron tonight. This should be a better long term solution.

Regarding the phones, they're still dear to me, along with my AD700. Was listening to Keren Ann this evening (Nolita, of course) through the AD700, and wanted to feel some more bass. Got the RX700, and yeah. The two phones complement each other wonderfully. I still think about buying a K701 again, just to hear those super highs, but it can wait. The AD700 is my default and favorite pair of phones, but when I want a more bassy, mellow presentation, or when I need isolation and don't need portability, these are wonderful.

Well, after reading several posts on this long JVC HARX700 & HARX900 thread, I finally pulled the trigger on the HARX900 and Zalman Microphone Zm-Mic1 for my PC gaming.

I'm so glad I found this forum with all you helpful people too! These will be my first taste in Hi-Fi compared to the usually cheap headsets I've used in the past.

Can't wait!

Uh....no. I'm sure it's very good, but...no.

LOL...I'm sure that was in jest...right?

The RX900 are pretty amazing for the price - both in sound and build quality. But they are hopelessly outclassed by all of my other headphones. But the cheapest of my other headphones is $300...The RX900 were $60! For that, they really are amazing.

I just purchased a pair of JVC HA-rx700's this past week from Newegg.com. and I forgot to check Buy.com to see if they may have them in stock-Dooooh!! Took a $8.00 price difference hit but I've dealt with Newegg.com for quite a while and it's a good company to deal with and their shipping is fast. After I "burn-in' my 700's for a few days I'll post some SQ observations. Happy listening.

The RX700, the RX900, the DX1, the DX3, the S150. All mostly ignored by reviewers, but all quite good despite the double digit price tags. I think these high end guys see JVC the way I see Coby or Durabrand and keep going.

I called NewEgg and they gave me a "one time pricematch" and refunded me $10

Anyways, Buy.com has the rx900's for $50. Should I sell the 700's
I read that the 900's have a bigger soundstage... Is it even worth going through all the trouble or should I just keep my 700's....

I will be using them in my house...

Thanks in advance guys
