JVC HA-SZ2000/1000 Impressions Thread

[ I haven't read every post in this thread ]-

I have had the HA-SZ2000's for a short time, I Decided to get different pads, the HM5 Thick Pads. LINK:

http://www.mp4nation.net/brainwavz-hm5-thick-memory-foam-earpad-suitable-for-large-over-the-ear-headphones-1pc

just got the pads today, finally got them on my headphones, apparently I have some problem now. There's some sort of suction created with these headphones and my new HM5 Thick pads, where when I put on or take off or even squish/move the headphone part it makes a clicky, springy sound, My prediction or ... reason why it's doing this is, because of the woofer-driver and the air between the pads and the headphone is pulling and pushing the woofer driver,... I might be wrong- I'm not an expert on headphones, this is actually my first official good pair of headphones.

you might ask, well, does it effect music? well, I've done short tests it doesn't seem to effect the sound. it might if you move the headphones around. It's a bit of a disappointment(the clicky/springy sounds)

--
I'm hoping it will go away over beak-in time, but I Fear it won't b.c it might just be how the headphones were made with the woofer-driver. the suction of thicker pads and more space between pads and driver compared to the stock pads.
-
Please, let me know what you think..
Thanks.

my 1000's don't leak much sound when I'm with them on, dunno if that's gonna change when I put the 55x pads on

I just got some 55x pads for my sz1000s, didnt really change the isolation. Did make the bass and comfort a whole lot better.

Clicky soft, or clicky hard? I doubt the woofer is doing the clicking, it might be the regular driver, or it could be the same clicking noise i heard with mine...

I'm not sure of the soft or hard thing, I Know it's mechanical inside the headphones.

there's another sound Which I've always had, the plastic, hinges/ or umm, swivle things make creaking noises, but that's not the issue I'm talking about.

the springy-clicking sound is in the headphone part. I wouldn't recommend this but say you push flat handed against the phone/pad part and completely seal the cushion, sort of fast, Mine makes the sound like the way it's sealed, it's pushing the driver or something inside there back and forth.. that's why I was thinking it was the woofer driver.. :frowning2:

EDIT: Kukyo, what pads do you use?

I used the EDT770 Pads, since they were more comfortable than Hifiman or the HM5 pads, though right now i'm considering on testing the 990 Pro pads. I didn't had the driver flex issue, though both hinges on my headphones broke, so now i sent them back to regluing.

He had another pair for sale, but I guess they sold as well. Keep watching, he might relist again.

Hey dudes - wanna see some uber cool pads on the SZ2000?

Then hit link below to my album

http://www.head-fi.org/g/i/1175513/jvc-ha-sz2000-with-ha-ma55x-w-white-ear-pads/

(Link description kinda gives the surprise away - lol :D...

..but I did have to buy the headphones these pads came from, but well worth it IMO.
I did give harvested cans a very brief listen to (very good bass with EQ applied and outstanding value for money basshead headcan IMO) and made a bass/paper SPL test video which can bee seen on the Extreme Bass Club thread found in below link:

http://www.head-fi.org/t/716711/the-best-bass-headphones-are-the-extreme-bass-club/1905#post_10813581

and - Zankin followed up with a SPL paper/bass test video of the JVC HA-SR44X cans with 40mm drivers immediately after my post, also worth checking :)

Also, apart from looking cool, these pads are extremely comfortable - highly recommended!

Seems to me JVC own the basshead headphone market at present

Man, you're on my wavelength bro :)

Xzibit should do a "pimp my cans" instead of pimping rides and use this white pad combo for sure

V Below link sums up my thoughts on the white pads + SZ2K combo :D V

Thanks dude!

Here's the first hour white pad photo stats:

48 views collectively for all 3 photos of SZ2K with white pads...

that 1 view every 1.25mins!

Thanks for everybody who had an interest to check photos out

Do I like, get a prize off Jude, or something for these cool stats  - maybe a cookie? :D

(OJ) :p

*just FYI - I haven't taken my SZ2K's off from wearing them since I took photos.....I may leave them on when I go to bed too....prob take them off in morning when showering tho *
