One model 2 different size earpads

guys, i noticed there are two "versions" of sz2k: one (like mine) says LIVE BEAT,


can someone please confirm if they're identical otherwise? are they simply different region releases?

Mine says LIVE BEAT as well, as far as I know one version is from Japan and the other international, but I am not sure.

If any further confirmation is required, I measured both with the same single set of aftermarket Sennheiser HD640VB/Neumann HD20 pads.

Obviously, they were not seated in precisely the same position, so just go by the 'general curve' and not the location of each data point.
Given that there will be some deviation between jig-seatings anyway and some deviation between units, I'd say they're pretty much identical.
If there is a difference, I don't hear it either.

They both also have exactly the same model number printed on the inside of the headband.

Why I need 3k per channel, would it make sound quality difference, so what if I turn it up

Yeah, I put 3-3.5 Watts into them using my S.M.S.L. SP200 Amp, it shakes your eyes and skull, I am not overexaggerating, make sure you have an external DAC mine was the S.M.S.L. M200, Topping and S.M.S.L. generally speaking make clean amps and DACs and powerful for "cheap" look them up

Broke in the hinge, I have the 3D model but haven't printed it yet, I don't know how to replace the broken piece.

If you don't EQ like crazy and give the headphones the power they need, they really will not produce any bass...

To the point where:

I just put the headphones in front of my ears, blast bass abd give them the juice they need and honestly relax to a massage from it
