Quick question, if I think the bass of the IE800s is pretty much perfectly balanced, would I end up hating the FX850 boosted bass, would it be like having bass-bins strapped inside my ears?

Thanks.

Which IE800 are you talking about?

Regardless, after about 80 hours of burn-in the bass in the FX850 becomes pretty balanced with the rest of the sound spectrum (and definitely once you get over 100 hours).

Sheer quantity wouldn't be that much different imo, about equal deep bass and slightly more mid/upper bass on the JVCs. But the FX850 have decidedly more bass authority and are much more comparable to full-sized phones in that regard. When listening to the IE800, even though their bass tuning is pretty strong, I can tell that it's a small driver. Not so with the JVCs.

Tbh, I can't give you a reliable comparison vs. the stock FX850, since I've exclusively been listening to them with the front vent mod for a long time. But if that's of any help for you, I've closely compared my modded FX850 to the Sennheiser HD600 (driven from the HDVD 800) and the JVCs sounded a smidgen less mid-bassy and warm, with better midrange clarity than the Senns.

here's a vague answer, since i don't own the EX1000 anymore...

It was too polite. A little laid back, smooth, romantic, boring. The treble was annoying for my ears. I know lots of people LOVED the EX1000 but it jist wasnt for me. It might be good for other music genres, but I wouldn't know.

Out of the entire collection of trance tracks i had at that time, there were only 2 tracks that were worth listening to on the EX1000....if that means anything...

But on the other hand, the FX850 is a bit more engaging, enveloping, the bass is more lively, energetic. The treble is not sharp or sibilant. Its also a smooth listening experience, but not boring in any sense.

I CANT STOP BOPPING MY HEAD. i feel like getting up and dancing almost every time

I'm sure you can wait, I had to wait almost 3 weeks when my t-peos h-300 got back ordered!

Anyway, after you receive them, try spending a day with them before you leave impressions, so that they're more rational. And a little less subject to "new toy" syndrome.

Are the FX700's very similar to the FX850's?
