i currently have the JVC SZ2000 and FX850, wonderful tools. I could retire...
How does the FX850 compare in bass to SZ2000 and the rest of your IEMs

I dont really wanna do a whole comparison, since i'm not really good at it.
But I can definitely hear more details in mids and treble of the FX850 compared to SZ2000.
I am inching ever closer to the buy button..
If I had the funds I would've by now, can't imagine why you wouldn't.
hmm the only iems that I have heard which come close in bass presentation:
starting from favorite bass iems AFTER FX850:
CKS1000 most favorite
FX700
XBA-4
IE80
IE8 least favorite
The SZ2000 is a different beast when it comes to the bass "atmosphere". Its bigger, its really big. The soundstage, wideness. The driver is larger. "Its hard for an iem to compete with a can"... well thats what I've heard from a good friend of mine, 12ehan...
But the FX850 does come closer to that experience, compared to other iems I have owned.
I think the FX850 has a perfect presentation of the rest of the frequency(mids, treble), compared to other iems I have owned.
Hi folks,
has anybody observed something similar with their FX850s ?
The day I received them I tuned down the bass with EQ by a huge amount (almost 8-10 db) and increased the mids. I had them burned in a few nights and every day I found myself changing EQ-settings back towards flat. I am not a huge beliver in burn-in but it really appears to me that frequency response has flattend out. It's like bass has lowered and the mids have come forward. In today's EQ settings I turn the bass down just a few dbs and it sounds ok to me now.
Has anybody had a similar experience with the FX850s ?
I guess I wasn't alone w this. Turned down the bass a bit after I got it, now it's almost flat. Thought it's my ears adjusted to the sound ...
