Hi,good to see you.
I have sennheiser rs170 and the background hiss is annoying.
Can l use external powerbank 5v 1000 ma instead of main powersupply?
Maybe this can eliminate the noise.

Hi DrSHP,

I'm not sure if using an external powerbank will help to reduce the background hiss. But here are some recommendations which should be helpful:

1. Please ensure that the volume setting on your source (e.g. TV) is set on a high level. This way, you won't need to set the maximum setting for the receivers. The reason for this is that if your TV is set to a low volume, your receiver will need to be set higher and this may amplify the noise level or buzz as well.

2. Check your attenuation setting - switch to 0 dB (headphone out) or -8dB  (RCA out)

3. Route your audio cable away from other power lines for best performance. This is to avoid picking picking up additional noise from other devices.

Hi,thanks.
I tried but the hiss can be heared even when i reach the minimum sound level on the headphone and this device has two types of hiss.
One is in background and constant and one is amplified when i rise the volume on headphone.
Your advise can eliminate type two,but has no effect on type one.
I changed the location and even tried the phone in another city, but no improvement.
By the way i lowered my expectation from wireless headphone and for critical listening use beyer dt 770 pro. And for watching movies rs170 is excellent.
I made a cable from a usb cable and adaptor male jack, cutted the cable and red ad black wires for + and -.then connect to jack.
I drived the main unit of rs170 with tv usb port and mobile device charger and usb port of laptop.
But from usb port i heard plenty of noise, but mobile charger worked fine.
I don't have exteral powerbank but asap i tried it,i will inform to you.thanks.
