Si chiude una porta, si apre un portone (= a door closes, a gate opens).
Enjoy the transition.
For sure it's nice when somebody leaves something in better conditions than he'd found it. That's good karma.

Thanks Joe Bloggs for giving me the opportunity to review the FiiO EX1 late last year. It was a truly fun project that kickstarted my involvement in Head-Fi. We can still be friends right?

God bless.

Well, glad to hear that you guys think I did a good job but let's give the "new guys" (who have actually been working there even longer than I have for the most part) a chance eh? I think their new promotional efforts are pretty generous, and as for any existing issues... well who knows, if they take the money they saved on me and took it to hire another engineer / programmer they may actually get to the bottom of a few more nagging issues instead of having me explain our way around them to all our customers :p

Unless the issue was user error. There was that one time where a customer had an X7 docked to the K5 and was complaining about buzzing and almost no sound out of the K5 line out. Turned out the input selector on the K5 was set to Line input rather than Dock input. It sounded so reasonable, the problem almost kept hiding under our noses. "The dock is set to the line out switch and the player says line out in the settings." Wait a minute... I was glad I caught this one and set him right before I had to leave... :)

Well, Fiio losses, I am not sure how Joe location and his part-time services are not being appreciated as it is. I have seen Joe as Fiio representative that is almost 12-15 hours surfing the forum, replying, and responding to Pm. I have never seen any other rep to take care of their own little community such as Joe, and specifically here as the most active forum for audiophile. Honestly, I have never known that Joe was working part time, and thought he had been overtime all along.

Thank you Joe for all your helps, and glad to have you still as an enthusiast and forum members. Will see ya around :)

All the best to you, Joe.
As i do not know any background infos, just want to say thanks to you for your fast and caring feedback.
At least your way of customer care was my reason to keep the X7 and to give back the AK JR.

take care

Joe,

I'm hoping you can help. I'm seeking a portable MP3 player (perhaps a Fiio) with the following features:

can accept a microsd card (minimum 64GB)
can be used for podcasts
will run podcasts in sequence automatically; that is, will play next podcast automatically after it finishes previous podcast
is BT capable (for earphones)
has a line-in jack (3.5mm) for car use
has fast forward/fast reverse option (non-touchscreen)

Can you suggest a product, or products?

Android devices can run your favorite podcast apps right?

Many devices can satisfy all of your requirements but one: I do not know of any device that has a hardware "forward" or "rewind" button. "Next track" and "previous track" buttons, yes, plenty...
