JH Audio Sirens Series Roxanne Impressions Thread

Wow, 2pm seems to be the consensus. I've been listening at 9pm. Maybe I should try 2pm out. I've never had it more than 12pm.

I am using around 9 o'clock as well. 2PM for me just drowns the upper mids and highs. Even at 9, the bass is still solid both in depth and extension(width) but strikes a nice balance with mids and highs. If I want a bass boost of some sort I switch to JH16 which still maintains the clarity in the upper mids and highs.

The Roxannes have convinced me for good that one should never trust other people's opinion. Apart from taste, there are too many variables.

I have heard many negative or so so comments on these, but let me tell you something : they sound absolutely great. Out of my 901 it is pure enjoyment. They manage to be full sounding and spacious with textured bass and smooth overall sound, nice speed. The highs are not the sparkliest I have heard but they are perfectly coherent with the rest. Overall, no issue yet (apart from the 120 reshells).

Only 120?

I think the bass dials depend on the source. With my RWAK120 it needs more bass so I have it at 3 o'clock. With an iPhone I set it at 2 and with the Chord Hugo it sounds about right at 1 o'clock.

I do wish it didn't require a screwdriver to change the dials though, especially as I have no nails (I'm a nail biter). And why two dials? Surely it could have been implemented with one.

And it make possible to balance with 2 dial?

This is very much a first impression. Even though JH just announced two new entries in the Siren Series I went ahead and ordered the Roxanne UIEM's. I'd previously heard them a few times at shows but never plunked down, probably because of the price.
What made me finally go for it was that I realized at home with the Hugo I almost always listen to the TH900, despite my often stated preference for flat and ownership of the HD800.
Also my UERM's are going back for a second refit, which made me not want to go custom again. I also thought I'd really enjoy something that's a little more 'fun' like the TH900.
Right out of the box, with the Hugo and bass control set to 12PM, stock default tips, I have to say they are wonderful. I can't imagine how much better things could get with break-in. Amazing detail and very rich and involving. Also very comfortable. Awesome isolation. This is going to be great!

Just ordered a set of Roxanne today after demoing several different IEMs. Demoed the JH-13FP, JH-16FP, UE-18 and Roxanne. Love both the JH-16 and the UE-18. Settled for the Roxys though, for that variable bass. The company I bought them from (based in UK) reckon its gonna be a 7 week wait time, any update on this on what you guys have recently experienced? I'm guessing it's gonna be really busy as Christmas holidays have just been.

Cheers!

You have to use a wire clothes hanger............

She used those. Be careful though, make sure there is plenty of light, and tell the person you stop if you feel a sharp pain. You might burst a eardrum if someone scared the person digging your ears.
