Why do you hate the h40?
The bass was just too much, and ever present in the sound. The sound was strangely unbalanced to my ears.

Everyone has different tastes in sound. So it wasn't to aces liking that is not surprising. I have yet to read about a product from budget to flagship stuff that is a 100% liked.

But there is a reason why the ISN H40 is ISNs all time best seller. It was even liked by HBB aka bad guy so you can imagine how many of those sold for ISN. But not everyone is gonna like them so it really matters what type of sound your going for more than anything and what your preferences are.

BGVP is a hit or miss company they make stuff that clearly garners followings but then they come up with a dud. It is the try this and that approach to tuning that shows their tuning philosophies' or the lack there of., Kinera is another company that this applies to.

Come to think of it, I have to agree. Most BGVP stuff I've tried weren't good for my preference. Only one was decent and acceptable. I even posted a short review. It was the DH3. Their DX5 earbuds also wasn't that impressive for me. Same case for Kinera often having mixed reviews all around despite being hyped a lot. On the other hand, I've got Penon's Orb, Globe, and Fan, and they all passed and ticked checkboxes on my preference in sound. I also tried their BS1 earbuds and that was a one real good of an earbud. ISN's H40 also surprised me when I got to borrow one for a week. I had some nitpicks but I loved the sound anyway. I have mixed feelings with their D02 but I think I got what I paid for for that kind of sound. Well, it must be that myself and some others really liked what we heard from these products that we keep buying them. I guess that's just one reason I could think of.

Whichever the case, those in their right mind get to decide fairly whether they will take into account the reviewer's words or not. It's still best if they could try first if there's a demo unit available or borrow from someone they know before pulling the trigger. I've been there since I've always been cautious from impulse buying after reading a couple of positive reviews. We're all capable of that aren't we?

Happy independence day to my fellow Americans. Enjoy your weekend and relax with a cold adult beverage and enjoy my take on the EST50.
In the end these are what you would expect for a follow up to the H40 and more. These are clearly competing with some of the best mid fi tribrids and you can read more about them here. https://www.head-fi.org/showcase/isn-est50.25254/

It turned out a bit longer than I initially anticipated due to comparos and such and after reading what I wrote initially vs the globes and Volts I had to include what I wrote there. The more closer comparison to the H40s is new as is the cable match ups.

The only real requirements is burn in for these. Otherwise very enjoyable and musical sound tuning some of the best in the industry has to offer. For folks that got them at a bit of an early bird discount consider yourselves lucky as I know Penon does that only for a short time.

How would you compare them to my favorite hybrid, the EJ07?

Cant say I don't own the EJ07 but those seem more on the level of the Penon Volts more than the EST50s. I seen they have made a new cheaper EJ07M which would be more competing with the EST50s.

If you want a differently tuned Tribrid than Linsoul then the EST50s are worth looking into.

I don't believe anybody has a set of the EJ07M yet. I've seen a couple folks mention they placed an order. Only info I have seen on it was from their US Rep that moderates a couple discord channels. Whether he newer model is comparable to the OG remains to be seen. I think the EJ07m is a "mass produced" variant with a different tune. Less labor in the manufacturing of the shell accounts for the lower price I would guess.

Gotcha. I'll keep an eye out. If they are using the exact same drivers it might make the EJO7 a hard sell at 300 more just for a different tuning. It's an interesting strategy to undercut your flagship like that. I know they also release the EJ09 recently so maybe they are trying to move in from the EJ07 a little bit

Reecho SG-03 is a titanium plated single dynamic earphone which is more of a bass tuned specialist earphone. It is one of those guilty pleasure type earphones. What is surprising about the SG-03 is its got good detail and has mids and treble presence due to a W shaped tuning. Lacks a bit of lower mids if your into your male vocals the SG-03 is not great for that. But for bass infused music it is basshead level of sub bass. I like it better than the old Vsonic GR07 as it is better tuned and don't sounds so flat for the mids like the old GR07 while having that stout sub bass, not to mention cheaper.

The H40 has much more lower mids more full body of tone for the mids has a bit more mid bass emphasis vs sub bass of the SG03. Treble is cleaner and more articulated on the H40. H40 will also a win for stage as well. But surprising the SG-03 has a decent stage for budget level earphone. If you want a bassy fun IEM the SG-03 is the best bass sub $100 earphone I cant think of but it is not as versatile as the H40 and as you would guess the H40 is more technical in sound vs the SG-03.

what kind of technicality are you thinking about? I like my sg-03 and I wanna know that the h40 is a clear update for 3x price or not . The sg-03 has relatively fast bass and don't bleeding into the mids. The h40 has a slow bloated bass , or am i wrong ?I mostly listen to electronic and house music
