WTH does that mean? Here we go for another spin... needs burnin, needs a better cable, needs lots of power. Good grief, it's like a broken record.
I am sorry to say that you just don't get it.

Get my order tomorrow finally. Will do few days burn in straight away as I don't like listening to something that is not as it should sound like.
This poster does get it.
IT is the advice to burn in the EBC80 for around 100 hours because it has 2 DD drivers per side.

I think burn in helps with opening and cleaning up the trebles as well. Several reasons why buring in helps the overall sound. Bass definitely developes over time. Why would you not want one of the most substantial releases for ISN/ Penon to be firing off at 100%?

Oh yea by the way the difference in bass emphasis from the EST50 vs the EBC80 is slightly lesser bass at about 2dbs less. The quanitity might be a bit less but the quality easily makes up for it. I feel bass is tighter, speedier more decisive and sub bass rumble is fantastic on the EBC80 as well. I don't feel the bass end is lacking one bit on the EBC80. There is a reason why ISN is using two dynamics for their releases. If they could have achieved the same bass end with a single silicone dynamic I am certain they would have done that. Actually there is not a part of the EBC80 sound that is lacking. All with one of the most holographic sound stages presentations you have ever heard for an IEM.

To me the EBC80 is SPECIAL.

Pretty curious about a comparison between ISN EBC80 and Penon Rival...on paper Rival has "just" 2 extra ESD but I think the drivers are different and at different price points. Rival also has the tuning knob and replaceable tuning damper), but if you take these last 2 out...then, are they that close?
I mean, I wonder is it a 10% difference in sound quality because the price different is almost 6 times.
Not saying it's not worth it, trying to do the math while also querying about sound quality etc, everything else basically.

Will find out soon. Mine is out for delivery. I will post my impressions after 100 hour burn in. I have MKIII and Maven II which some people say lack bass but it certainly does not. Graphs don't give full picture. Also tips, cable, source can all make a difference. What tip was used to make their graph? One of the stock ones? I NEVER use stock tips as they are never the best ones for my preferences.

Just out of the box these remind me of MKIIIs. They do not sound bad at all best ISN IEM I have heard. Plenty of bass - perhaps more than MKIII without even being broken in. Treble needs to settle a bit. Did not tip roll yet but using Velvets/not wides which are same I use on MKIII. Already have a nice stage. The stock cable is crap so won't use it again. It does not plug in securely into my DX180 so its worthless. They need to work on the connector so it snaps securely into place. They should just sell without the cable and take that cost off price. I won't compare MKIIIs directly with these until after they have burned in. I can burn these in just by listening to them as they are not offensive or annoying but will let them burn in when not using just to speed process up.

Have had them in my ears now since I got them and very comfortable. No issues with seal even when eating with Velvet tips. Curious to see what happens with burn-in. I bought 64A Nio new and it did not change with use and same with Trio. Anyone that says these have no bass is full of it or using wrong tips. Screw the graph. These already perform well above their $700 price so this makes them very attractive to those looking for kilobuck performance for a reasonable price. Treble is better than MKII even not burned in. MKII was treble hot broken in. I can hear the BCD in action. Adds some dimension to the notes and improves stage. I will be keeping these. Cable can go in the bin though.

I don’t think anyone that has heard them has said they don’t have any bass. They have fantastic bass! Graph doesn’t do it justice. These IEMs are simply glorious!!!!

What cable are you using as alternative @mattclarke18?

I am busy doing some stuff in the house so just threw on Ares SII for now. I can't use the stock cable as it does not snap in completely on my DX180 so if it moves Neutron stops playing, very annoying and has a very cheap feel to it. I will probably throw it away as I have Maven II stock cables I am not using that are much better quality. No point in tip/cable rolling until they are burned in. They sound good with Velvet regulars as you want the BCD port to make contact with ear and longer ended tips would prevent that. Bass is excellent. Anyone that actually buys a set will see that as I seen posts here based on that stupid graph it appears it would be a bit bass weak. I am really impressed so far right out of the box. For ESTs they did a good job in keeping them controlled unlike Mest MKII. I am treble sensitive too and more of a bass head. So far this is a no brainer buy as long as you have other cables to use.
