Is getting a DAC worth it?

I discovered a new side of ms1i with foobar and the equalizer, with wasapi.

Now i'm gonna get an udac2 and then (long time from now xD) an ultrasone with an adeguate amp.

It's interesting you mention that because when I play a FLAC file with any of my Windows based media players it sounds horrid, probably EQ settings I would assume....but....then I play the same file through the same sound card through the same headphones but instead with my PS3 music player from my Playstation 3 hooked up to the sound card and.....the difference is night and day in terms of clarity, detail, quality...everything! Color me stunned.....but so it would seem Windows audio (?) or the media players suck.....all I can tell you is hardware being the same, same music sounds awesome on PS3. Not entirely sure why, but hey it does it very well. PS3 RULZ LOLZ!

Yes, VLC lack a library function, but when you have all you music organized in folders by artist and album, it isn't that bad.
