... a set of akg k240's (600 ohm)?  I'm thinking no, but thought I would see if anybody has tried. 
 
Reason I ask is a buddy of mine recently picked up a pair in pretty good shape, and they sound fine with his vintage pioneer amp, but I was curious if my little PA2V2 would be able to do them justice.

High impedance phones don't usually go well (they may be good, but not the best) with portable amps because the higher the impedance, they lower the wattage that gets delivered to the phones. OTL Tube amps on the other hand, have this "weird ability" to provide more wattage the higher the impedance (voltage swing I think).
 
In retrospect, yeah an amp is an amp, but you wont get the best results.
