Hopefully the latest EC ruling means that future I-phones in Europe will have to have
micro USB connectors only. That surely will make life easier?

Changing the interface would not stop Apple from selling a cable with CCK-like functionality. It would just mean we had to buy a third set of cables.

Also I thought Apple met the EC regulations by selling a £15 micro USB charger to Lightning adapter.

I really hope that won't be the case. Lighnting connector is much easier to plug in than micro USB as its double sided.

I have purchased an iPhone 4S (ios 7) CCK that works wonderfully with my Centrance HiFi-M8 but unfortunately I can't use the CCK with my iPad Air because it only runs on lightning connector. Does anybody here know if there's a lightning adaptor to regular CCK?

Apple do sell a Lightning to 30 pin (socket) adapter. In fact they sell two. One is cable based, the other just a single lump of plastic. I have not tried linking my cable based one to the old style CCK but without checking I think Apple charge more for the cable adapter (£35), than for a Lightning CCK (£25). So go buy the Lightning CCK. Economics might be different if you want to use the 30 pin SD Card adapter as well.
