Introducing XIaudio (Eleven Audio) Broadway and Broadway S.

Waiting for Broadway S to arrive for review. Very excited to check out Michael's latest creation! For iems, S should be fine, especially since it doubles the battery life, should make it more transportable. So, what do you think of a tonality? Is it on a warmer side or still too early to tell if you are going through burn in?

It's quite punchy and detailed with plenty of dynamics. Tonality, it's pretty neutral with a hint of warmth (but definitely not overly so), but that's subject to change with more listening and burn-in.

Ok...I can confirm that the balanced Broadway can fully run the most power hungry I have on hand: the LCD-4. And run them without breaking a sweat! Pairing is just brilliant!

...and as an update, this powerful little amp can run the Abyss Phi headphones too without breaking a sweat! Also, a brilliant pairing!

So did anyone end up getting the Broadway S? it is a contender for me at the moment as I am considering an amp purchase to pair with the Hugo 2 (an M Scaler on pre-order), and my LCDi4, and Utopia with Lazuli Ref cable. My primary objective with adding the amp to the chain is to increase the stage size of both the Utopia and i4 with a little more juice than the H2 offers, but obviously I do not want to lose too much of the resolution of the H2 (with incoming M Scaler). Other considerations are the SPL Phonitor e (which I have read is very clean and does not colour or take much resolution away from the source), ifi ican pro, V281, Conductor v2, Trilogy 931, or a Gilmore lite Mk2.

I would love to buy a Dave but sadly cannot afford it at the moment.

No way to demo the Broadway S here in Australia but the design looks very nice and I like to battery element of it for transport to and from the office.

thanks.

It is strange how there is no official thread for the Eleven XI Audio Formula S
any feed back regarding this amp is highly welcome specially compared to its newer models and other flagship amps.

I just received this. Cannot test it yet as I am waiting for cables to plug my WM1Z.

The Broadway is just a great transportable amp. I have it paired with my SP1K and it drives my 1266 phi. It sounds good with authority. I'm guessing the Broadway S is just as good but SE inputs and made more for IEMs.

I just wish it was priced a little lower but used ones go for very good prices because the brand isn't well known.

What happens to the sound when powered by the sp1k without the external amp? I’m trying to troubleshoot my own problem with sp1k with the extra sp1k amp module and abyss recommends an external amp. Portables daps don’t work well with hungry hp. I’m trying to figure out how the sound signature changes.

My sp1000 + amp sounds loud and crystal clear with abyss Diana v2, but the bass too quiet for my taste, the louder I crank it the brighter it sounds. I’d like to know if the brookyn changes the level of bass.

The Broadway gives the SP1000 (CU) more weight if you ask me - I don't notice any changes to the bass per se from the SP1K but it's not lacking at all. Highs aren't bright at all. The Broadway is great but the S starts at around $1,600 and goes up to $2,300. The SP1K amp costs around $800 so you can't expect it to compete.

I got my Broadway for the rocking price of around $1,100 so I'm happy.

Thanks for sharing. If you did not I would have thought Joe from Abyss made this himself as he highly reccomends this paring with his 1266 TC headphones.

haha did not expect 800mW to be sufficient for 1266!

I know, sometimes fact is too confusing unless we study more about electricity.

I knew few debates whether mojo or Hugo 2 perform well enough for Abyss Diana (42 ohm, 91 dB) or not. Hugo 2 has 740mw at 32 ohm, and Mojo my guess has around 300 mw at same rate.

Currently I surprise my self enjoying Diana V2 straight from questyle qp2r with "tiny" 70mW at 32 ohm. Use volume around 53 to get comfortably loud at 70db (maximum volume from qp2r is 60) with Daft Punk - Give Live Back To Music.

Sound quality seems well controlled. Deep bass, micro detail, separation, all are there. Soundstage is well shape too. Of course can not match thousands dollar of desktop set up (qp2r is below $800 now anyway), but you get the point, it's still has "comfortably" enough juice to make Diana sounds good.

Imagine what 800mW can do :L3000:
