Introducing XIaudio (Eleven Audio) Broadway and Broadway S.

I know, sometimes fact is too confusing unless we study more about electricity.

I knew few debates whether mojo or Hugo 2 perform well enough for Abyss Diana (42 ohm, 91 dB) or not. Hugo 2 has 740mw at 32 ohm, and Mojo my guess has around 300 mw at same rate.

Currently I surprise my self enjoying Diana V2 straight from questyle qp2r with "tiny" 70mW at 32 ohm. Use volume around 53 to get comfortably loud at 70db (maximum volume from qp2r is 60) with Daft Punk - Give Live Back To Music.

Sound quality seems well controlled. Deep bass, micro detail, separation, all are there. Soundstage is well shape too. Of course can not match thousands dollar of desktop set up (qp2r is below $800 now anyway), but you get the point, it's still has "comfortably" enough juice to make Diana sounds good.

Imagine what 800mW can do :L3000:

tried mojo with diana phi and felt that it was too inadequate in terms of power and hence the sound produced felt very sterile and dry

really had to max out the volume too..

Anybody compared the Broadway with the Bryston BHA-1? I am using the Meze Empyrean.

I've owned the Formula S w/Powerman and the Broadway is not that far off and it is transportable to boot. Really great amp that punches way above it's price point.

Thanks for the feedback.

Does anyone have any experience with the Bryston BHA-1 and the Broadway. Would the Broadway be an upgrade or a lateral move? The other amp I am considering is the Headamp GS-X mini. The Headamp seems to be similar to the Benchmark HPA4 which I own and love.

I second this. The mojo, while great for IEMs, did not adequately power my Diana V2. The WA11 is another story altogether.

If anyone is looking to sell a Broadway (not the S version) I’d be very interested. Please PM me.

Let's simply focus on the amplification for now, just wondering if these numbers (on paper) were somewhat meaningless in terms of apples to apples comparisons?

I got one recently from a headfi-er by posting on the Amplification for Sale forum; maybe you can try posting there as well?

So far I can say for sure that the Broadway amp is a wonderful pairing with the Diana V2. I wish I had gone directly to it from the beginning with my V2; would have saved me a lot of money along the way.

Wow, strange. I'm listening to the Diana V2 right now with the Mojo and I think it works very well. Much better than a IFI x-can.

Anyway...just want to say that I have the full X1 Audio stack with my 1266TC and it's phenomenal. I've haven't heard anything compare.

What Dacs are you guys using with the Broadway for portable use. I would like one to take on Trips.
I am just about tho get Cayin N6ii + A02. Will report some impressions soon hopefully. :)

I believe the "sterile" sound come from the result of combination of their signature. Whether it's too sterile or not is a subjective matter. Not because the amount of power from Mojo.

Woo WA8 has 350 mw in power, approx similar to Mojo's power output. Currently till now WA8 is one of the best (portable) pairing for Diana Phi in my book, significantly better than WA11 with its 1.2 W of power. Haven't tried broadway though!

Cayin N6ii with A02 motherboard + Broadway. Excellent pairing. Driving Diana V2 like to its full potential.

Have a bit of an issue with my Broadway exhibiting static when turning the volume control knob. Never bothered me until recently. Anyone else have this? I'm thinking I might pull out the knob. It actually doesn't affect the sound at all once you stop turning it.

Hmm...

Thinking of getting a Broadway balanced for my Diana Phi and have a couple questions:

1) Does anyone know if 6V input (from DAVE) is fine for the Broadway balanced? I am guessing it's fine - never had a problem w/ other amps.
2) Where are people getting their cables to connect DAP to R/L XLR? Are you running line out or headphone out?

thanks!

I can probably answer (2). I use the line out from my Cayin N6ii DAP. For the cable, I use a 4.4mm to dual XLR cable. I believe several of them are sold in Amazon or Ebay currently.
