Or rather other R2R dacs. It seems to have NOS mode but does it really? As far as I know, Denafrips Ares II is not truly NOS for example.
I got an answer back from Hifiman on this.

"NOS: The input sample rate for non-oversampling is whatever it is (for example, 96khz-24bit is input and 96KHz-24bit is input to DAC); Only Analog Filtering; The pulse response does not ring."

Got mine yesterday. Using it with a Sundara. First impressions : the King is the midrange and the Queen is musicality. Like it😀
I plan to get by end of the month. I heard it at CanJam I loved its unique bass quality and ease of use. Are you noticing in difference in how it renders bass compared to other amps?

Sorry i don't have a lot to compare with...
Bass was not what strikes me first but they have a natural tonality with nice weight and decay... Wish they have a little more punch and slam if i compare with my precious dac/amp Aune X1s GT...
Will see how it goes after more hours 😀
Let us know how it feels by the end of the month😀

Initial listening is beyond expectations. Easy of use works for me, two buttons, no settings, delightful compared to complex RME ADI-2. The EF400 sounds less analytical, or more tube-like sound compared to the RME. I dislike the input possibilities: it is only USB in. I miss optical and coax! Anyone knows a nice streamer with USB out and Roon compatible?
