Introducing Shanling M8T - New Flagship Portable Android Player with Tubes

so, it is acknowledged that the previous attempted fix for public networks does NOT work? @Shanling

It works on networks we were able to test here in China.

Different networks might run different systems for user login, so software team was tasked to expend the possible compatibility on this.

It works in Chinese hotels.

As mentioned in the previous post, we tested it locally, but asked software team to expend the possible compatibility on this after your feedback.

Waiting for M8T to arrive. I am very excited for my first tube experience but also hope that the whole package will keep me with this DAP for a longer period of time and it will be only the IEM/Headphones chasing game only :)
What is the typical use split you guys have - offline DAP saved music vs streaming apps (including offline saved)? And do you hear a difference between different source apps or similar quality files but in different player apps. Do you use native app vs something like UAPP or Neutron?
Here is the latest alternative app overview btw:

AppSound QualityUI/UXBit-perfect?Cons
UAPP⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐✅ YesFunctional UI; paid app; no library "beauty" features
Neutron⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐✅ YesComplex settings; old-school interface
Poweramp⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⚠️ PartialNeeds tweaks for true Hi-Res; uses Android stack
HiBy Music⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐✅ Yes (HiBy DACs)Best on HiBy devices; slightly clunky UI
Plexamp⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⚠️ NoRequires Plex server; Android audio path
Shanling Music⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐✅ Yes (Shanling DAPs)Not ideal on non-Shanling devices
Roon ARC / Remote⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⚠️ NoNeeds Roon Core; Android stack limits output

Interesting because I tried and failed in the MGM Shenzhen as well as a Hyatt in HK.

Perhaps a step by step guide by your team will help. With screenshots

Ok noted, will ask software team to provide one if possible. But the process should be basic, you should get the notification and follow it up as on normal phone.

One thing to try according to software team - do a full factory reset after the firmware update. It might help with resetting the configuration file.

To me, the M8T isn’t a sub-bass monster — its magic’s in the balance. It feels light compared to the sub-bass in the R8ii, but once my ears settle, it’s sounds perfect. I’ve tried medium and high gain, but always come back to low — the gain modes shift the signature just enough that low feels right for me. The R8ii needs high or turbo to really knock your socks off, so not a fair A/B. Still, the M8T’s bass hits different — musical, with an organic blend into the rest of the spectrum that’s just uniquely satisfying. Loved my OG Cowon Plenue series DAPs till these — though in the car stereo setup, Cowon still shines.
Guys, I don't understand how do you talk about source comparison without even mentioning the headphones/IEMs you are using, how did you volume match etc. It's like whatever headphones you take the outcome bass will be same. Sorry but this is way to simplistic.
If I take my Fibae7u or Fibae5 the source will have max 5% difference. Anf then there are always ways to DSP/EQ the hell of any chain.

Recieved the DAP today and I must say I am seriously impressed! Especially by the tube mode, the sound is so mellow. It perfectly matches with Fibae5 and mellows down somtimes a bit harsh highs. I listen to known tracks and hear completely new nuances, this I guess that holy grail of high end equipment.
Now I will start chasing those perfect over ears to compliment my IEM collection.

indeed. I tried it alongside a normal iPhone in a hospital setting. as well as hotel. in both cases, the pop up came up in the iPhone but not the M8T

I just got the DAP (FW 1.28 out of the box), and it seems to have trouble writing to SD cards. I've tried multiple cards which work fine in other devices, but in the M8t, the write performance is intermittent at best and it fails to copy files most of the time. Reading files is fine. Anyone else experience this?

Try using a card reader.
I always use a 2TB SanDisk Extreme with a card reader connected to my Mac and have never had any issues.
