I find the M7 to be faster with better clarity and space between notes. There is also more detail that can be heard and you hear more air. The M8 is quite a bit warmer and more musical with better bass texture. I think the M7 may need some more burn in or I need to find the best filter mode. I currently find the bass to be too fast without enough decay and the treble to be slightly grainly when compared to the M8. At the moment I find the M7 to be better for more classical instrumental tracks and the M8 better for modern music. The reason I bought the M7 is that I find the M8 to be too warm at times, but I absolutely love the warmth.Congratulations! Impressions? What are the differences? I love my M7. I'm looking forward to burn-in like the M8.

@Shanling
I know there is not gapless playback implemented but it's doing this fade-in playback now so the first few seconds of each songs cannot be heard on the M7. How may I disable this behavior?

Few seconds? In Shanling Music app there is 0.3 second skip on start of file (we hope software team can fix this). If you are restarting playback after long time, on the very first song the skip can be around 1 second, as the audio circuit re-activates.@Shanling

Well I don't know exactly how long as all I can hear is a very abrupt fade in at the beginning of every single songs. It is very obvious for songs that start at 0 minute 0 second 00:00 and it is certainly not nice at all. I don't hear that on the M8 and why is this happening on the M7 seriously? You need to remove this fade in behavior as it should not be expected on any DAP. If you can't provide gapless playback, at least add an option to add a silent second before each song to remove the fade in.Few seconds? In Shanling Music app there is 0.3 second skip on start of file (we hope software team can fix this). It's same on all our players, it's issue of the app.Well I don't know exactly how long as all I can hear is a very abrupt fade in at the beginning of every single songs. You can try it with this file, it includes 4 beeps within first second. It's best to copy in few of them and then quickly jump between them. On M7, if you use Shanling music app, you should be able to hear 3 beeps. It differs also on third party apps, for example UAPP or HiBy correctly plays all 4 beeps, other apps might be just 3.

It is at least much less obvious on the M8. On the M8 it is like 0.1 second or less but 0.3 second is just too obvious just too hard to ignore. I know you app devleopment is behind other companies but please, you should not expect buyers to use other apps other than the Shanling app as those cannot be used in prime mode.It's same on all our players, it's issue of the app.

Burn-in has progressed.
Classic is the best

Does anyone know the output impedance of the balanced output ? I know the specs say less than one ohm although where, the SE or the balanced output or is this an average.
I plan on purchasing an IEM that is rated for 8 ohms and need to clarify if this would work here.
