Roon ARC works well for me, though I hadn't tried it for a while on this device, anyway. It may be the case that Amazon Music is working better, also (before, it had a tendency to just hang for a long time).
SMH - I didn't even see that link and just figured it was a catchall update file. sigh
In my defense, there's an odd popup when you try to download even the m6 ultra file that suggests direct download of the m3x ultra file. Anyway, thanks, that solved the problem (though I think I also needed to put it on the internal storage root).
Yes, the strange message was definitely a google drive issue. Thanks for looking, anyway. On the plus side, I'm happy that even trying hard to screw up my device by applying the wrong firmware didn't brick it! LOL
Hello,
Has the problem been solved with the update that more traffic takes place via wifi where once mentioned?
I listened to this dap once and thought it was great.
However, I'm still hesitant because someone mentioned it a few weeks ago.
Maybe just me, but I don't actually understand what problem you are describing. The guy a couple weeks ago had a problem with his particular router configuration, I think: Is that what you mean? my m6 ultra gets 133mbps down and 22mbps up and 15ms latency when I test (compared to 945/947/2 for my desktop, but still). Streaming seems to be improved. It's probably worth trying again.
What? I tried to use Roon (tried both Roon Arc and Roon Remote) tonight on the m6u; but, roon just says "no audio devices" and doesn't play. I'm having no problem with Amazon Music streaming, Emby, or with USB Audio Player Pro on my local library.
Roon Arc only works when its core is active.
If you have Roon on your PC, it must be on and Roon must be open.
This is the only way it works.
If the programme is closed, Arc does not establish a connection.

It was sort of helpful, so thanks. I'm well aware of how Roon works, and it connected to the core device just fine. However, there was some sort of (typical) Roon weirdnes: I went and checked and NONE of the systems -- including the core -- could find any audio. I had to restart Roon on the core. So annoying! Well, thanks for moving my thinking in that directions.
Of course, now Roon Remote works, but Roon ARC is giving me the dreaded "Unexpected Playback Error" that has plagued Android devices off and on for along time (I see a thread on roonlabs devoted to the iBasso DX320). So... I can use Roon if I am either local or t ake the time to turn on my VPN, I guess. Roon ARC just not working for me. To be clear, ARC works fine right now on my Galaxy phone.
Is there any reason not to use the Eddict player instead of the stock shanling music player as its quicker and has more attractive themes plus it is more successful in finding the correct album art.
@Shanling Any info from the developers about Roon Arc? Since it's broken on (AFAIK) all your devices, I would think it can't be too hard to figure out.
