Fair point but maybe we just wait for the first reviews of this product.
When we have such a positive response from EH1, I do believe in them!
We can wait for the reviews, but what will these prove? Remember that just about ANY dac can be made to sound well.
The rule remains ... resistors with 0.1% accuracy is enough only for 10-bit R-2R DAC,
0.0015% for 16-bit (about the limit for a classic R-2R discrete dac including switches resistance),
0,000006% for 24-bit (far away from physical possibilities, so above 20-bits other tricks are used in the R-2R chip dacs).

If I connect a RPi4 via usb as Roon endpoint, is it Linux compatible? Thanks

It should run with Linux, but not something we test.

oh i am little late to the party. what an interesting device. since the amp section is build of transistors, would you call it a descrete build or is it basically integrated chips with additional transistors?

Why is there not a single review or video of the EH2?
We sent out review samples around Christmas, it will take a bit before reviews start coming out.

Ok thanks for your reply!
The EH2 is now available in Germany for 399€ but I'm waiting for some reviews/impressions.
Love to do a review on this one but seems not many sets went out and I couldn't buy one was tapped out.

When i have i very good signal from a transport and i dont want that the H2 does touch the signal with a lets say not so a good clock. Can i say let the signal pass trought.
EH2 do not have any digital passthrough, it has no digital outputs at all.
Once it receives signal, it will be processed by its DAC.

I just got it and I have to pay a big compliment to Shanling. In such a small space it is really impossible to concentrate a quality R2R dac, a precise and unobtrusive tone control, a gain control, a not bad BT module, a very good balanced connection, a really good headphone amp. I have had and have, dacs, headphone amps, linear power supplies, all of great value and I have to say that, albeit with a few differences, this all-in-one looks great as a second small living room system without spending a fortune. Very detailed and precise, without noise, quite powerful, clean power supply, without too many frills it gets straight to the point. Really useful and satisfying tone control. I will write new impressions soon, but at the moment, very satisfied because I honestly didn't expect it.
