Arghhh I just bought the standard aeon 2 Noire closed like 2 months ago and really liked it. The FOMO is killing me but I just can't afford another big purchase :frowning2:

The X....is simply a blessing for the ears☺️
It simply feels good when the bass/low end is now tonally correct and matches the performance👍

PS.It's like heaven when you listen to the noire in the morning and you can start the day like this 😇

What I also really like is that the proportions now fit a head 😎
The E3 is a bit too big and too bulky in comparison

NOMAX

PS.It's a real monster in comparison...the Stealth and Expanse are the maximum in terms of proportions/shape of how big a Headphone should be 👍

And for me, this is what I'm looking for any time I listen to music. The experience of listening has to be good enough to move me emotionally. And then there's that bass. Cueing up some EDM the bass has that addictive slam and can hit hard when the music calls for it. Also, there is some nice texture when listening to an upright bass with jazz tracks.

8. The NoireX will certainly be a popular choice in the mid-fi market, sounding more hi-end than it's price tag. The exceptional bass make it fun, the impressive naturalness of the vocals bring it to an "all rounder" product, and the refined treble and staging make it one of the best if not the best headphone I've heard at this price.

👍

Exactly....if the music calls for it...yes that's what it's about and not about adding too much (an overemphasis) which isn't real 😉
(My personal opinion)

NOMAX

PS.I also spoke to Oratory at the show last week in Vienna
He sees it the same way...less is more
That's the only way to serve all genres with a balance
Yes, there is a lot of truth in the 2013 Harman from an acoustic point of view 😎

@mrspeakers :
Do I "need" to sell my E3 now or where do you see the differentiation between the E3 and the Noire X?
(I know similar questions came up when the E3 was released with respect to the Stealth :))

Better Technology Means Better Sound

NOIRE X is designed around an updated and improved AEON audio driver. The new driver is significantly more rigid than its predecessor, with superior unit-to-unit consistency, reduced distortion, improved reliability, and smoothed frequency response.

Leveraging our state-of-the-art Audio Precision 555B and B&K 5128 measurement system, we’ve carefully integrated NOIRE X’s new driver with our patent-pending AMTS and redesigned ear pads to create an experience we’re sure you’ll never forget.

1732642603675.pngPerhaps the most important feature of NOIRE X is the addition of DCA’s critically acclaimed AMTS tuning system, previously found only in our top-of-the-line Stealth, Expanse, E3, and Corina headphones.

Truly a revolution in acoustic engineering, AMTS uses advanced metamaterial design concepts to shape system frequency response while simultaneously eliminating high-frequency standing waves, which are responsible for the synthetic-sounding high frequencies found in all too many headphones.

By eliminating these standing waves, NOIRE X with AMTS delivers remarkably balanced, nuanced, and airy treble free of the fatiguing artifacts that diminish your listening experience.

Other Features Include:
  • Self-Tensioning Headband
  • Gorilla Glass
  • Luxurious Comfort with Upgraded Ear Pads
  • Enhanced Connectivity with Versatile Cable Options

So You Ask: How Does NOIRE X Sound?
We’ve gone all-in with NOIRE X to deliver the most exciting possible sonic experience, regardless of price. As is our custom, we never de-feature a headphone at lower price points, instead, we try to take the technology, comfort, and performance of our flagship headphones and cost-reduce them to realize superior performance at lower prices.

As a current Noire owner, I am excited to try these!!! DCS has never failed to hit the upper midtier (that is, if you consider $999 mid-tier or not) with excellent closed backs, where many others only put open-backs at similar price points. Only thing I dont like is that DCS went all black on the cups which I hate. Every other budget can has black cups and takes away from the upmarket style DCS usually goes with
