Perfect. My tastes and preferences are for my ears and genre palette so I have a hard time recommending. I don’t have any experience with the Noire X and Mojo so I can’t speak to that synergy anyway.
I was personally not a fan of the Mojo, though I know its reputation (I didn’t try it with DCA headphones). The Mojo2 and Hugo2 have been on my list to try at some point. Mike Regan at DCA told me (iirc) he also likes both the Hugo2 and the Headamp GSXMini with the E3. I didn’t ask him re the X.

Following up on an earlier post, does anyone have thoughts for a Noire X cable upgrade, whether to the VIVO or something else? As the VIVO is $200 more, that’s my starting point but I’d double it for a much better solution than the included Dummer. I’m hoping the pull the trigger on a pair asap.
TIA

I’ve been auditioning both. My impression is that the 109Pro is across the board better. But IMO it’s not a fair comparison as you are looking at Open v Closed. The 109 has a much better soundstage and placement of notes. The X is the best closed I’ve found for me that approaches the 109 with 1, comfort and 2, a close sound. (I’ve tried a bunch including Liric 2 and DCA E3). The E3 has more detail and a wider soundstage, but it’s twice the price and for me at least less comfortable. FWIW I’m buying both the 109 Pro and The X.

Wow! I wasn’t expecting this! I believed the Noire X was superior in every aspect. Now, I’m having second thoughts...

If anyone else has experience comparing the Noire X to the Meze 109 Pro, please share your impressions!

Thank you very much. 👍

Well keep in mind, impressions are very personal. And as I said, I’m buying both - though if I didn’t need closed backs for work I’d be getting just the 109 Pros.

You are comparing a closed to open. Dynamic to Planar. Just totally different types of headphones. They would be more compliments to eachother than something to compare to each other for deciding which one to pick. The X is neutral, the 109 Pro are going to be a bit more "fun" sounding but they are meze's most neutral headphone. They are lighter, and have less clamp florce.

Don't know whether to get the E3 or the Noire X.

Which one will maximize the best performance?
which one is more warm full body?
Best performance across the board is E3 but it costs twice as much and that difference is quite minimal. E3 needs a bit more power though so source chain really matters.

Noire X is definitely warmer with more note weight and more punch and slam. E3 is a magnifying glass for resolution but Noire has definitely more fun factor.

I would say that Noire is pretty close to magnifying glass also. Fun also though.

I don't want thin sounding profile

E3 has more body 😎

I would like to report that the Noire X sounded amazing with the iFi Gold Bar.

With XBass and XSpace both turned on, it was a pleasant and unfatiguing listening experience.

That would have been a pretty good portable set up for me. I had no intention of picking up the X for desktop use anyway (already got that covered). However, I decided not to purchase it for comfort reasons. It didn’t fit my head too well and the press on my jaw was uncomfortable.
