Introducing NEO iDSD2! The world's first lossless Bluetooth DAC/Amp...

Sorry this isnt true. 'none' has better blacks and soundstage.
Not saying that it doesn't, not one bit. I have often heard this myself, but in theory, this was the reason.

It is important that we all weigh in on this, and as I said reporting it can only make it more apparent to those designers who had "best practices" in mind when making it.

I initially thought this as well on my NEO Stream but after a long time, I realized it was correct, (For me anyway, and I no longer think about it). In order for change to happen we need as consumers to say "No" We want it this way because I perceive a difference, and the way this is now is inconvenient for me.

I appreciate your thoughts on the matter and will report this sentiment as you have posted it!

Thanks as always for the honest thoughts!

Cheers!!

Thanks. I wish it was the case that 100% vol performs the same but it doesn't. It was 3 weeks of confusion for me on why the sound output kept changing over time. Turns out the 'none' setting keeps getting kicked out. I sticked to the zen stream instead, but tidal api is not nice lately.

Hello folks...would you think that it is worth upgrading to the neo idsd2 from the zen dac/zen can (both signature versions)? I only care about upgrade the sound quality...I don't need screens or any bluetooth devices...

I would leave the concrete thoughts to those who have made the comparison in person, but my initial reaction is that most folks are very pleased with the sound qualities and features of the NEO, but I would say perhaps an in-home demo would be best for you to decide. Just purchase from a retailer that offers a No-questions-asked type return policy and you will get a better idea, or see if there's a shop around you somewhere that may offer trials.

The best Bet is to trust your own ears!

Cheers!!

Yes home demo and comparison would be the ideal but I don't think here in Greece this is an easy option...

If someone has experience with the idsd2 and the hd650 would also be helpful....because 650 has good synergy with the zen can....but in my experience amps that work best with low Z headphones do not play well with 650....

In any case thanks for your reply

Cheers

If you have a moment please report this to our support folks by filing a ticket if you are also experiencing the same "volume issue" as we are checking it.

@801evan

You are having this volume issue with the NEO iDSD 2 correct?

I have checked with a few folks who have the unit, and I want to make sure we aren't confusing units.

Thanks...

Cheers!!

The volume concern was the neo stream. It keeps getting kicked out of bit perfect.
I understand, I got a bit confused when you mentioned it here, as another poster who filled out a ticket on the NEO 2.

My apologies for getting confused with your post.

Thanks for clarifying!

Cheers!!

Would it be possible to mute the preamp/lineout output while listening to headphones?

I am not sure, but I will check for you on this ability unless another owner beats me to it,

Cheers!!

Any updates? I am on the verge of buying it, but that would be a deal breaker
