Latest iOS App update a few days ago broke the pairing connection. Had to re-pair to iPhone.
Now the High Res Audio switch keeps turning OFF even if you restart headphones.

Also connection has become unstable and sound quality much worse since this iOS update.
I have the same "High Res Audio switch keeps turning OFF" issue on Android phone after app update.
Didn't check sound quality yet.

Hi 👋 can you please PM me a screenshot of what you see in the Smart Control app when this happens? Also, your specific phone specs and OS version.

iPhone 13Pro Max.

Latest public iOS.

Latest Sennheiser firmware as of 2nd Aug 2023.
Latest Sennheiser Smart Control iOS App as of 2nd Aug 2023.

Issues started after recent Sennheiser Smart Control iOS App update.
Issues:
1. High Resolution Audio does not stay on. Even after i turn OFF/ON MM4. I was using this feature with NVIDIA Shield which does AptX and AptX HD. I think it sounded much much better when I could previously turn ON AptX HD on iOS App. Obviously i only use with Shield as Apple is only AAC. However my main use is with Shield.
2. Connection is less stable. Allot of drop outs. I have factory reset MM4 and reinstalled App, plus deleted all paired devices. I did that today. So will see if connection stability improves tonight.
3. Looks like BLUETOOTH LE is broken. This might be the actual issue to everything above.
Previously I could use the App whilst not be paired to iPhone for audio.. This is because it was BLUETOOTH LE paired. Now BLUETOOTH LE has vanished on my iPhone Bluetooth devices for SENN MM4.

Yes exactly here. Also BLUETOOTH LE is broken - this is very bad.

If they don’t fix in next 14days i will return the headphones and buy BOWERS WILKINS Bluetooth HP.

The sound is so compressed now. Horrible

All is good on Android. Decided to take these with me on Tuesdays flight, along with the U4S and go pods.

Any update. I just returned mine and got a new pair in case issue with that one. Same problem with new paur.

High Resolution Audio via AptX does not stay ON - it used to be fine before latest iOS App update.
Also Bluetooth LE gone so have to connect Audio to iPhone to use the App. Rubbish.

Connectivity is rubbish now with iPhone and my Android based Nvidia Shield TV PRO..

Didn’t have these issues until the recent iOS APP update.

What is the situation?

Totally broken on iOS. NO BLUETOOTH LE. JUST VANISHED AFTER LAST IOS UPDATE FOR THE SENN APP.

OBVIOUSLY THAT NOVA COMPANY WHICH NOW DOES SOFTWARE DOES NOT BOTHER TO TEST BEFORE A RELEASE.

I took these on a plane for the first time. ANC definitely works. I doubt it is as good as apple or Bose, but it makes a noticeable difference on a loud ass plane. They also do at home with my HVAC too.

We perform quite a bit of testing and have to go through many approvals before release however it is impossible to cover all user scenarios (combinations of phones, operating systems, environment scenarios) an impossible to look over the shoulder of every user to determine What they are experiencing. Your screenshots in background information were very helpful and we have forwarded them to our development team.

For iPhone and iPad users:
High resolution mode will work only with AptX Adaptive to AptX Adaptive devices, so if you attempt to use high resolution mode on an iOS or iPad OS hardware (which they do not use AptX) I would suspect that high resolution mode would turn off on its own as it cannot work due to the differing chipsets.

What about USB dongle, like Creative BT-W4? I'm using it, and before latest app update I was able to use high resolution mode. Now I can't, since this setting does not stay on.
App is installed on Android (S22 Ultra) in my case.

Thanks for this feedback! Can you DM me a screenshot from in the app and also let me know which version of Android you are on? I will get this over to development to dig into.

I actually gave feedback last week about the high resolution mode not working and they told me they would have a firmware update by the end of the week. Guess they weren't able to stick to their work.

Not that it affects me, I can't tell the difference beetween high quality spotify and the actual flac with wired USB.

EDIT: There's new update to the app that fixes it.
