Introducing CL2 Planar (Impressions Thread)

Ahoyhoy, apologies for the delay - I was putting the question to the team. The answer: "the nozzle angle and area around there is very similar, but the way the cable enters the housing is different, so be careful not to get too close to the top of the housing."

Understandably they're a bit more reticent on sending a driver out, it's still quite closely guarded.

Hope that's some help!

Colum

Thank you for the response Colum.

Trust me on this, it's a 20 second repair, and itll be permanent. Use the brush.

Also if you try the WM1A 3.01, turn Direct Source off, and have all DSP options also turned off.
Clarity, and separation go a step up. I am sooo happy with the combo it's not even funny.

My journey with the CL2 is coming to an end.

I've just bought customs and the years old problem I've had with getting a good fit on my right ear has gone. Had it with every universal I've owned.

Be sad to see them go but no point in keeping them now.

Will be in the classifieds later today or tomorrow

I was leaning to the DX220. The 1A I can demo at B&H, the DX220 is nowhere to be found to demo...

A shame that you couldn’t get custom enclosures for the CL2s.
How’s the SQ of your customs? What did you wind up buying?

Bought the Custom Art Fibae 4 at the pre order price.

Different sound signature to the CL2 but a lovely heavy hitting musical sound with an excellent bas and sub bass response

I never bothered with the copper cable in the end because I was struggling with the fit on my right ear, seemed a potential expensive upgrade that I might not recoup.

I'm hoping one day to get a planer in a custom, the CL2 shows what is possible with Planer technology in earphones.

Makes sense. For me the fit is flush, as good as it gets pretty much.
I can't enjoy BA iems very much, so all these customs are out of the question.
If the fit was constantly a nagging reminder, uncomfortable, I'd look elsewhere too.

Add: hope the CL3 has a custom option.

The CL2 fit is perfect, with the right tips. And the tip size I prefer for a good seal is different for each ear. But if I had tried a bunch of tips and they weren’t comfortable I’d move on as well.
The CL2s continue to amaze me, especially as they continue to evolve.
A custom offering would be great

I would like to hear your thoughts on this iem. Comparisons etc. If you get a chance

The CL2 fit is very very good however not perfect for me, this is not the fault of the CL2 though. Every universal iem I've owned I've had the same issue with my right ear, it just doesn't fit snugly and trust me I've tried dozens of tips on all sorts of earphones.
