On the LP6Ti it's the beta - v1.0.1.6 and on the 7AE v1.0.0.3 both betas. That is because I wanted the % power bar on both of them. I realized the firmware makes a lot of difference and can control the power even better on the 7AE. The newer firmware is better in that on some music files it used to crash but now it supports it a lot better.
TBH, I hope the new LP7 doesn't add too much weight and size to these existing ones but I fear it will if they want to improve things like battery life, GUI and if going to the Android based OS. The portability of these two and weight based on the titanium casing is just perfect for me. I just love the size of these. I am happy if they just put in a longer battery life and keep everything the same. Sometimes less is more, we are just after the perfect sound. These 2 units will still be very collectable for their portability.
Thanks yeah the firmware makes a difference, hence my request.

I think the current form factor in anything other than Ti would be quite heavy and bulky already. I hope L&P will play it smart and do a portable IEM oriented one, LP7 standard, and for people needing big power for headphones, an LP7 Giga, or something like that

LP6Dual.jpg

I have both and been testing them out side by side. Definitely the 7AE has more power. I believe they improved the Op-amp and also the power on it. The rest is just cosmetics like the lacquered wood and intro software. I am confirming with my source at LP in China and will revert back. Just a few movement on the volume on the 7AE can blast my ears off on the Black Erlkonig but these are easy to drive. I heard this on the Obravo CU and it makes a helluva difference when you can drive the IEMs. They are tuned slightly difference on the voice. I think the 7AE voice is more forward. I listen more to the LP6TI because is it already sufficient for me based on the IEM I use. If I were driving a over the ear headphone like a HD800 then I would go for the 7AE. I do believe the profiles you pick on it makes a difference to the tuning. I prefer the voice to be slightly back hence I prefer the LP6TI. The details on the 7AE sounds marginally sharper but it may be to do with it having more power. Really I feel there is very little in it hence I tried switching up on the IEMs I use on it to see if it is reflected in a more TOTL IEM. Before I didn't think too much of the Obravo CU but after pairing it with the LP6TI it can push the hell out these harder to drive IEMs. Just sounds better. No other DAP can do this as well as the LP6TI
O bravo Cu sound better than Black Erlkonig ?

O bravo Cu sound better than Black Erlkonig ?
They are different IEMs and style. Obravo came out with the version 2.5 which is pure quality on the build but at that price, one cannot expect less:) It's open back sound so sometimes not convenient as a portable IEM if listening in the streets the noise will be too high. It's suited for a quiet place to listen to since the noise isolation is not there. Nevertheless, listening to classical music on the LP6Ti is sheer bliss. VE have their own sound and tuning. I just feel the Black Erlkonig got the balance right for me and can have different settings if you want it leaning more on the bass. I am not a heavy bass guy. I always have a soft spot for German Engineering. Once they get it right, it's hard to compete with them. I've literally fine tuned this to the tee with the Hades cable and the wide Acoustune ear tips. I see the Obravo CU like a better version of the Oriolus Trailli but you'll need a power amp to drive it, to get the best out of them.

Oh boy the sound enhancement on new firmware 1.0.3 is immense! It adds more body and meat to the overall tonality while instrument separation through jewel is beyond astounding. The new firmware is made for TI AE to go super with jewel I feel. Is there anything more organic sounding than this? I doubt it.

Jewel + 7AE is such an incredible pairing. I haven’t heard anything better than those two combined.

Someone Know if Obravo ra 21 compete with IEMs like Jewel, U12T, annhilator, Odin
U12T doesn't even get a lookin there IMO.

Ra are very unique in presentation, I'd put them in their own league due to this. Probably a little bit marmite if you dig them or not. Having had the last revision, I demo'd the latest when returning to portable but didn't get on with them (using MAX SS), potentially as they were new and from experience I know they need a decent bit of play time for AMT to settle down. It would be an IEM that you would need to demo before buying IMO and make sure they've had plenty of hours on them before listening. And make sure you've got a good source. I know @NYanakiev is liking his driven by N8ii.

Just added the Platinum to my collection. Can't get enough of the LPs at this moment!

Congrats once again 🤗
Thanks, there was an article written about the Lp6Ti and the 7AE below. I personally think this is true. There is no IEM at this moment which the LP6TI cannot push or handle.
The LP6 is way ahead of it's times for the next 3 years. I only need to upgrade the IEM, the back end has already almost reached perfection in terms of being able to drive and deliver the sound just whether you can get a good enough IEM to compliment it.

"Therefore, in the next few years, there may not be any portable players positioned higher than the seventh anniversary of LP6TI. The series can continue on this altar with peace of mind. To say something offended, the technical barriers of the player are still bigger than that of the earplugs. The reason why the friends did not dare to sell their own machines to 4W, I think it is purely because there is no way to beat the LP6 series in terms of sound quality, that's all."

Is the Plat a 2x or 4x DAC? In any case, I'd be looking forward to your impressions of all three!
The Plat is 2 x R2R. I am still listening to it and evaluating and comparing.Apparently only 40 were made. Personally for me it's not which one has more R2R, it's about striking the right balance for me to listen comfortably to it. Technically the 7AE is the winner and I was told by the LP expert that the 7AE has more R2R. I am trying to understand the profiles and the software which drives it. I believe the software in the FPGA makes that much of a difference to how it handles the sound. As I said before the DAP is way ahead of it's time and IEM needs to play catch up. Therefore, I am looking for the most suitable IEM to compliment these DAPs.
