I wonder, I play a DSD 256 file from a computer with foobar2000 with IFI ZEN DAC v2 connected.
The colour of (led is red) and sample rate is
When i play from Tidal Master Studio ( led is blue) the maximum sample rate i got is 48000Hz.
This sampling limit to 48000Hz is due to the Zen DAC or the Tidal?
I have never found higher sampling rates when playing with Tidal.

DSD is sent in High rate. MQA is unfolded after it gets received in packed version by USB receiver. So you can't compare these this way.I wonder, I play a DSD 256 file from a computer with foobar2000 with IFI ZEN DAC v2 connected.

Do you also have Zen Dac v2 - do you get such a sample rate from Tidal master?
The more I delve into MQA, the less I know.

- Master - Original master recordings - authenticated by the record label or artist themselves. Unrivaled quality, clarity and depth delivering all file sizes (up to 24 bit / 352kHz), using no more bandwidth than a CD quality (16 bit / 44.1kHZ) file (up to 9216 Kbps or 24 bit / 192 kHz). "

Hi, I'm trying to test out Hi-Res audio on Apple Music now. Is there a way I can I check it's correctly being output from my Mac at 24 bit 94 kHz? Should the color of the dial change? It's still yellow, like it was with Lossless (non-Hi-Res) and AAC.

1) Enable High Resolution Lossless (When the music app is open, on the menu bar, select MUSIC, Preferences, and ENSURE you set streaming and storage to HRL)
2) On any track being streamed as lossless, click on the lossless logo - it will let you know what the bitrate and depth of the stream is:
3) Provided you have selected the correct DAC as your audio output in the system Sound settings, you will be experiencing the exact lossless rate as displayed by the music (see following image with Tone2Pro - could easily be the Zen DAC/DAC V2)
THE LIGHT WILL STAY YELLOW. This is still a lossless stream, just using PCM as opposed to other formats. (Time index 25 seconds)

So it still being yellow is okay. Thank you!

If you ever want to reconfigure the default sample rate for your DAC on a Mac, use the "Audio Midi Setup" utility:Thanks a ton
- Click the Launchpad rocket ship icon in the dock of your MacBook Pro, and then click UTILITIES, and AUDIO MEDIA SETUP. You can also just search using Spotlight for "Audio Media Setup."
- Click the name of the input device in the left pane of the Audio Midi Setup window, such as ifi ZEN DAC v2 (Screen Shot below is for Tone2 Pro - Same thing in principle)
- Click the "FORMAT" drop-down menu, and then click the bit rate and integer you want to use, such as "16/44100.0 Hz" (16 bit 44.1kHz) or "32/768000.0 Hz." (32 bit 768kHz) The higher the sample rate, the better the sound quality will likely be provided the source can match.
Both MAC and Windows demand you go and alter the default sample rates, which are never set as the highest by default.
