If our iDefender caused this, to my knowledge that would've been the first such an issue with this product. That said, please let our support know about this: https://support.ifi-audio.com
@iFi audio Hi, I have a Novaris PP10 surge protector with 8-outgoing socket outlets, incoming IEC C14 outlet.
1.) Can I plug Ground Defender into this surge protector via C14 outlet, the other side to wall receptacle?
2) Or Ground defender is only for individual audio component with IEC C14 ?
All my audio components (streamer, external DAC, integrated amp) are with 3-pin , i.e earth/ground pin and connect to a single wall receptacle, wonder why there is ground loop problem as I observe hiss sound from speaker ? I have disconnected all my RCA interconnects from various frond-end audio, yet the hiss sound still there when I am close to speaker's tweeter.
Yes, you can connect GND DEfender to your surge protector's inlet, so that the effect spreads across its outlets. If this doesn't work with solving the issue, you could try moving GND Defender from one your individual component to the other and track whether there are any changes. Hope this helps, thanks!
Thanks and I hear you. We had to go with the most common length to keep the product as affordable as we possibly could. Hope this helps in understanding our decision, thanks!
@iFi audio Hi, I have a SupaNova feeding my DAC, but is that the best use for it? Maybe I should use it for my AVR or 2CH amp instead? What's your recommendation for best usage if I got only one cable?
