I am a Roonlabs forum member, and it was buggy for you!

And as far as I know there are a few nose turners that think it's not that good, but the Majority of the thread on this is Positive, care to correct me?
Nope! You’re the self appointed alpha dog around here, not going to change your mind but yes, this unit is buggy as hell and wasn’t ready. Their customer service is beyond poor and that’s about it.

You can say all you want. The crap I had to deal with to get iFi to respond, the audio circle threads they had shut down because peoples issues were making them look bad etc. need to be addressed and shared.

I knew that it works fine. I got confused I guess since I’ve been using Roon for the first time yesterday. I’ll do like I always do and make the comparison myself on a streamer to settle on. My TV is Roon ready.

I am self appointed!

To protect this little audio gem from being crapped on by people who more than likely didn't bother to read a thing on it before purchase, or read the directions for that matter!

Many satisfied users and a few that have no patience, but I understand your supposed to just plug it in, change all the settings internally to whatever audiophile A and Counter Audiophile B says should be the buffer settings and yada yada should be to hear that earthy tone.

Carry on I won't bother you anymore, I tried...

Don't give up on Roon, it's a great service, but it can be a bit Daunting at first! In the long run you will love it, I think!? :L3000:

So to everyone else that’s looking at these units. Go to audiocircle, look at the roonlabs forum, and listen to others beyond the fanboys.

There are issues with these. I had a bad one, sent it back to the retailer who confirmed (wait I think I explained this already but some are slower than others) the issue. They sent me another one, had the exact same issues and then started having issues with the power supply (another known issue).

This whole time iFi would ignore any question I had or service tickets I submitted. I finally gave up and sent the second unit back.

I don’t like being treated like that, iFi had people kicked out of their audiocircle because they all had issues and iFi wouldn’t help or couldn’t, and didn’t like the bad experiences in public.

Glad some people have good ones but people who have bad ones have just as much of a right to voice their opinions.

13 posts on the subject 2 "failed" units and he just appeared here to let us all know how crappy and buggy the unit is, fortunately we are smarter here....

and FYI, I never said I was "done", I said I won't bother you, but if you think that means you can take a shot of this "Fanboi" you dead frigging wrong.

As I said, I will defend a perfectly good unit so those who can't afford 2000 dollar streamers can benefit from the sound quality of this unit.

I guess I wasn't clear so sorry for your confusion.

Don't think I ever see any audio product that works 100% every time for everyone. I do personally believe negative feedback is an important part of how manufacturer learns and improve, as long as the feedback themselves are constructive and well layout / explained.

That’s exactly what I want to see. They need to address that there are issues and not ignore those who have them. Make the product better over time.

It’s my first item in 25 years of being in the audio industry as a consumer and for a few as a dealer, that I’ve had such a horrible experience. Really wanted it to work too as there is a lack of affordable streamers that have usb out.

I’m going to start over. I read exactly 2 posts in this thread and quoted and replied to one. This is 2,111. Not quite 17,000+. Anyway, I’ll read some now and will make a decision for myself. It sounds like it should be good for a Roon endpoint and of better sound quality than other options. For now, I’m playing with a Bluesound Node.

The true astonishment is not whether ZS is good or bad, but the fact you are so reluctant to walk away when there is an easier and more sensible way out.

before i purchased the Zen Stream i asked you about the negative reviews and you mr. B dismissed them as histrionics. so i went ahead on your word and bought one. i will admit in all fairness that when they do work they sound outstanding. but even at $399 there should be no excuse for the poor customer service from both IFI and their retailers. nothing is worth that.
