iFi audio xDSD- The Official Thread

As I stated earlier. Whie charging, I never get a white flashing light. Eventually light will go out. At that point I unplug DAC from power and turn it on and load up music. Either white light turns green after about 1-2 minutes, or upon turning on, it goes straight to green light. It's making me think that my device is not getting fully charged. Is it possible to still be in "desktop" mode if it's running off of battery, or do I possibly need to send my device back?

It's for the best to ask us here: http://support.ifi-audio.com

If in doubt, that's the fastest way.

Hey guys. Hopefully someone can help...
I have a pair of Roxanne II IEMs, and they have a balanced cable, with a 2.5mm connector. The XDSD says it has a balanced option, but the socket is 3.5mm; is there a way to connect my balanced cable to it?
Please forgive my ignorance... I am relatively new to all this.
Thanks.

Either you buy a new cable with Roxanne termination and 3.5 TRRS balanced jack or you buy and adapter, female 2.5 TRRS to male 3.5 TRRS. Be sure to say you want to 3.5 TRRS balanced because 3.5 is also single ended TRS. All cable makers can do both

Thanks. I have seen some online now.
Do you think it would be worth it, for IEMs (short cable)? Some say it is an improved sound.

Help...

Setup:

iFi xDSD (FW 5.30)
LG v30
Connected over USB (not BT)
USB Audio Player Pro (playing Tidal)

Playing known MQA tracks (I get MQA out of my desktop DAC on the same tracks, but using the Tidal app, not uapp), but not getting MQA out if the xDSD)... the frequency light stays green, so not playing MQA.

Looking at the track playing the info shows it is not seen as MQA, though I know for a fact it is... so not sure if my USB Audio Player Pro settings are set correctly (my guess is probably not set correctly but I don’t know what they should set to), or if somehow the xDSD is forcing the uapp to not be in MQA mode (doubtful)...

Can anyone explain what might be going on? Probably best place would be to start by explaining what options I need to have on in uapp...

Thank you in advance!!!

Tidal only plays MQA through the desktop app. There's talk of MQA over mobile devices, but as of yet, that's not possible.

Well, now that is both clear and disappointing! Thanks, I appreciate the prompt reply...!

Having said that, what are the optimal settings for UAPP to get the best sound / performance out of it through the xDSD?

Thanks!!
