Roger that and, by the way, it looks as though I may "have" to replace my PRO iCAN Signature! That Phantom looks "splendifirous" and I've always wanted to get back into electrostatics ever since I owned some self-powered early era Koss ESP-6A phones back in the early 1970s..

Am I correct to assume the +9db, +18db are exactly just that, a bump up by +9db, +18db, no extra bass boost or anything so it’s the same as using the 0db gain but crank up the volume by 9db = 9db toggled on?

Thx - was having the same "general" question. So I as I don't listen at high volume, I har also used this "trick" with other amps - that is using Roon to scale volume by (for example) -12 dB

Have any you changed tubes in both iCAN and Pro iDSD. I did some time ago, swap tubes on the pro iDSD. It works really great - I get the tube effect also when playing on other the amps (e.g V222). Now I am considering also to buy new tubes for the iCAN. Just wondering how much that would add to the overall SQ and possibilities?
Any experiences?

I’ve never used the tubes much at all. Did you replace the tubes with a different type or manufacturer or because they “got old”? If because they got old what change in the sound quality did you notice?

I replaced the stock tubes with some Bendix 6385 with stunning results. Inside the Pro iCAN I changed the tubes to a pair of Sylvania Gold Brand 5670 (Gold Pin).

Both are hard to find and pretty expensive
