I am not sure what you meant by that?
I mean the firmware (1.30) in which I received the neo sounds bit perfect. Then upgraded it to 1.35 and to my ears this sounds the standard. I compare this using memory since the latest firmware of neo enables to select which filter to use.

Are you saying the first firmware sounded like the new filter setting of 'bit perfect' or a general bit perfect DAC sound? I'm still a bit confused as to what you mean.

Actually I would like some verification on the bitperfect filter. 1) does it apply to both pcm and dsd sources. (My understanding is that dsd uses a discrete channel of the dac chip so it has always been “bit perfect”)
2) by “bitperfect” does it mean if you play redbook source of 16/44.1 for example, NEO will not do any internal upsampling processes prior to feeding the source to the burr brown chip?

Thanks

1. All our products handle DSD natively, with the exception of Pro iDSD and Pro iDSD Signature platofrms which feature user-selectable DSD upsampling filters.
2. Bitperfect means that there's no filtering engaged, as in all data passes to a DAC in its native form.

To simplify, the bitperfect option is for those who enjoy music streams without any upsampling or data manipulation along the road. Hope this helps!

Did the firmware update, now the volume knob of the Neo doesn't function anymore.
Please any help...?

Hold the volume knob while powering on the device(hold the knob pressed then push the power on button-device must be off)to get the menu and change from fixed to variable.

Great alexeyi, that worked seamlessly. Another problem is that my is not equally bright anymore after the update. Do you have a solution for that as well?
