Yes, you can do it the same way you got the new firmware, but use the old one instead.
That's affirmative, thanks!

Can I trouble you to swap your NEO iDSD's firmware to any other version and see whether anything changes? At the moment we're investigating whether this is related to firmware or just a rare case of a display fault. Thanks!
With the old firmware the display now is also not equally bright, but less than with the new firmware.
I believe that before updating my display was normal...

I can contribute to the update mysteries.
The display brightness works for me (high/low/off). My Neo is set to "off". When the display is "off" I can't power the unit off though. When I press the on/off button the display lights up and then goes off again, according to the display settings.
I can only "power off" when the display is on. Meaning I press "on/off" to lite up the display then I press "on/off" again to shut down the NEO. It' not much of an issue but still a bit weird.
Yes it’s (powering off the unit while display is off) been like that ever since I bought the unitI think this is the intended way of working at the moment, regarding the power off of the unit while using the display off option, I am experiencing it on my unit also.
Yes, I installed back the old firmware as suggested, and made a photograph. Display looked much better again, though not completely well. Then I installed again the new firmware and made a new picture of the display, that was looking much poorer.Thank you, that's interesting. From your photos I gather that installing older firmware (1.35) fixed the issue, yes?
Well, display looked much better when the older firmware was installed, though, to my opinion, not as good as it used to be.Thank you, that's interesting. From your photos I gather that installing older firmware (1.35) fixed the issue, yes?

Thank you, I already did that, Neo is shipped back to the dealerOur R&D advised to open up a support ticket (https://support.ifi-audio.com) as your display might be damaged. There's a difference between firmware versions how that display is managed, but it sould be lit evenly regardless. Thanks!

I'm having the same problem. If I bought my Neo brand new on eBay and sent it in, would it be covered for this issue? It was sealed and is under a year since I bought it, but it was not from an authorized dealer. I'm guessing the answer is no but appreciate the clarification.Great, thanks and we're sorry about that inconvenience!
