Well I have been running the IFI Ipower X for for a few weeks and it works great. Running my two ssd drives and the JCAT femto. No problems...doest even get more than slightly warm. Have to get my headphone cable back before I can really tell how it works. Got some Swan S200 mkIII+s while waiting. My Cuinas Super Cap should be back and repaired in a couple weeks as well. But so far I am quite impressed. I will keep this thing as a backup...for a hundred bucks it is ridiculous good. Nothing comparable for
the money from what I can tell. Delivers current like mad!

Happy listening,

Finally got my iPower X. Physically it is a lot larger than the original iPower, plus the white chassis and white LEDs make it stand out more too.

Yes, iPower X is bigger, but does it do a better job for you than your regular iPower?

That is what I am going to find out the next few days with my RME ADI-2 DAC FS, and report back. :)

Ok, so I compared both the iPower X and the regular iPower in my system (RME ADI-2 DAC fs + Apollon NCore NC502MP + Monitor Audio Platinum PL100), both 12V.

The difference is small but it exists. Tonality and soundstage size there was no change. But with the iPower X I heard the instruments a little better outlined, a fraction more clarity and resolution, microdynamics and textures. The music became a little more alive overall. It is relatively subtle, but once I noticed, it is hard to take it out of the system and downgrade to the normal iPower.

Is it worth it? From the 50 usd of the regular iPower to the 100 usd of the iPower X, absolutely. At least at the level of this system. And that is considering that the normal iPower is already considerably better than the stock power supply of the ADI-2 DAC. So I definitely recommend the iPower X. I just hate that it is white, urgh, as I already mentioned like 4 times before lol. :)

Thanks a lot for your feedback! Great stuff! :beerchug:

The difference between old and new iPower shouldn't be big, but noticeable, and improvements you're experiencing are related to lower noise floor. That's what makes all instruments separated better and felt more alive.

And point taken about white iPower X, we'll do our best to address this next time

I haven't seen anyone comment on the new iPower Elite. I ordered one the other day and will share my impressions when it comes in.

Please do! Are you planning on using it with your Pro stack?

Yes. I will swap out my current linear power supply to try it with the iCan Pro and iDSD Pro.

We have our popcorn ready.
Maybe I'll even do a proper review, @iFi audio, comparing it against the iFi iPower Plus that it came with and my Keces P8 linear power supply. Do you have some iFi Audio-branded audiophile microwave popcorn (you did mention popcorn) to provide in exchange? :L3000: :christmas_tree:

If we had and iFi-branded snacks, I'd gladly send you about a metric ton of them :)

I received the "new" iPower Elite from Amazon yesterday. Strangely, the box was not shrink-wrapped in plastic. It looked like it had already been opened and taped back shut. The power supply itself is working fine, but I was a little put off by that.
