Did anyone compared Signature with DAPs like Cayin N6ii, Lotoo Paw 6000 or Sony WM1A?
I love my hip dac and wanted to try out micro signature, but noted the latter lacks 4.4mm true balanced connection. Will that degrade the sound quality? I am listening on Sony Z7m2 with the stock 4.4mm cable.Nope. That's something entirely new
Well, hip-dac is way below micro iDSD Signature but also worth taking into account if you don't want to spend too much.
If it was true balanced, it might still sound identical with single end, so you'll never know.I love my hip dac and wanted to try out micro signature, but noted the latter lacks 4.4mm true balanced connection. No. Sound quality has nothing to do with whether the amp has a balanced circuit or not.I love my hip dac and wanted to try out micro signature, but noted the latter lacks 4.4mm true balanced connection. Will that degrade the sound quality? I am listening on Sony Z7m2 with the stock 4.4mm cable.
I think trying out the different modes, I've noticed the differences in how vocals and instrument presentation and imaging changes from filter to filter.
Standard is the one most in your face. (sort of intense midrange wise)
Minimum is the middle point.
Bit perfect is furthest out (this sort of feels relaxed).
I tested this through the IER-m9 and elex.. FW 7.2b
The only thing that comes to mind is the xDuoo XD-05 Plus/BAL. They are both "Transportable" and have a lot of I/O options except for Pre-Amp, pretty powerful too... Other than that, maybe the xCAN? I was not a fan of it's internal DAC or mirror like finish though.Hey guys, my iDSD Black label's DAC basically crapped out on me, and the hiss bothers somewhat too. Was thinking to upgrade to the Signature but the lack of analog input (gee, who whould've thunk people would actually use as AMP as an amp, LOL!) is a deal breaker for me. Any thoughts on a better replacement for the iDSD Black label that also has analog input? Thanks...
@DecentLevi While this could be a pricey option if you are after ifi house signature and you don't care about channel imbalance at low volume I would consider Signature as a dac/amp combo and try to buy ifi micro iCan SE as a separate amp. There isn't that much difference between iCan SE and BL unless you need all the BL output power.Hey guys, my iDSD Black label's DAC basically crapped out on me, and the hiss bothers somewhat too. I understand that you have had answered, and checked (and used) the Nintendo Switch, and confirmed working...Does anyone know if this works with Nintendo Switch and PS5?
7.3x (hadn’t heard about this branch before.. hmm, will go look this one up) smiles - thanks for info...Hey guys, I got my Signature 2 weeks ago and I'm curious about the firmwares, which one do you guys prefer? So far I've tried 7.0, 7.2b & 7.3c and really like 7.0. an interesting thing is that I prefered the GTO (5.3c filter) with the Zen DAC but did not like the GTO filter (7.3c) with the signature, weird.
Also, has anyone tried connecting something like the Topping BC3 to the Signature for bluetooth input? I'd be curious to know if there is a good way to add wireless connectivity to the signature.
By bad, meant to type 7.2c but must have gotten confused with my Zen DAC's firmware (5.3c).7.3x (hadn’t heard about this branch before.. hmm, will go look this one up) smiles - thanks for info...
I had hoped that was what had happened.By bad, meant to type 7.2c but must have gotten confused with my Zen DAC's firmware (5.3c).
