iFi audio iDSD Signature - The saga continues!

For all following the v1.5 firmware saga (@robopanda), this is the reply I received today regarding it:

Alright, I have clarity. The Neo and signature have slightly different hardware that reads differently in the DFU app. We will have a software update to address this in the future. Its not available publicly yet.

Thanks.

FYI - There is new firmware available for micro iDSD Signature with serial number starting from 2014001021 posted the iFi website. I'm guessing that the XMOS chip was changed from XU208 to XU216.

cool, still no dsd 512. I don't know why ifi should be ignorant of the chipset changes in their own product.
Are you running firmware 5.2 Limoncello? I recently had to reapply the firmware again since the first time I flash it I noticed I was still getting the magenta LED light and it was processing the TIDAL MQAs. I did a second firmware flash and it worked. firmware 5.2 will only handle a max DSD256 on mac or DSD512 on windows.

Also, what are you seeing on your mac when you check the hardware info? This is what mine shows me.

Hi. I'm looking for suggestions for some headphones. My budget is about £600 and I would prefer to purchase from a UK retailer. I'm looking for a warmer than neutral sound and would also like to use them on my Fiio M11 Pro DAP, so on the easier to drive side.

I currently have Meze 99 Classics, which I find a bit dull with too much bass.

I can't listen to anything, as I live in Jersey.

@iFi audio : could you please clarify what is the difference between 7.0 (Cookies & Cream) and 7.0c? Their description on your linked page look identical to me...

The 'c' version applies our GTO filter and the other one doesn't, just as it was the case with our 5.3/5.3c firmware. Otherwise they're identical.

And is there a changelog available or something. I don't know whether it is worth it to upgrade from the 5.3c that's on my Zen DAC now.
