Sorry, what I meant is this reviewer said you could, as it has separate signal and charge sockets, leave the charging cable in permanently. Thus the battery would be on perminate charge.

I see so kind of like having balanced common mode benefits while maintaining (powerful) SE output voltage. That's not necessary.
Our 4.4mm headphone out is balanced and not subjected to our S-Balanced tech as it doesn't need to.
Our S-balanced tech is for headphone outs that can accommodate balanced and SE plugs, so not a 6.3mm headphone out.
Yes, this is part of what is confusing to me. This directly contradicts statements seen elsewhere. So the statement on the website is not correct, right?

Great stuff, thanks for the testing. I don’t think the Signature was even ever claimed to be balanced in the original marketing (if I recall). I actually don’t remember the Signature ever being referred to as balanced up until a few posts ago. It’s more just the “which port(s) are S-Balanced” question that I can’t seem to get a consistent answer on. To be honest I don’t care much for “balanced” or not, at this point it’s more just trying to understand the company’s claims and getting a consistent unified answer.I just tested the Signature, and the signal return pins on the 4.4mm output have zero resistance to the ground/signal return on the 6.3mm connector. That pretty much shows that the circuit isn't balanced.
Regardless, it doesn't matter. The sound quality and power of a device is not decided by whether the circuit is balanced or not. I think it is of benefit that it isn't because the power output of both connectors is the same, and doesn't require that your headphones be re-cabled to get the most benefit out of it.
If you ask nicely maybe somebody will open theirs up for you and take pictures, I would have done if I'd decided in the end not to buy one due to a change of tack in the hobby.I'm sorry but I refuse to give any manuf SERIOUS attention when they won't disclose their devices' chipset and/or goes to THIS level of obfuscation (photos from Crutchfield)...
Come on, iFi .... learn from Schiit ... who bare it all ... and still sell like hotcakes.
Pfffffffffffffft!!! You're lucky I was THAT cordial in my remark. And BTW ... y'all are welcome for me 'vestin' some time outta my busy schedule ... diggin' up those images ... and raisin' the 'ssue ...If you ask nicely maybe somebody will open theirs up for you and take pictures,
Perhaps it is in fact 5.3, but for some reason displayed wrongly as 1.5. I'll double-check this internally
so still no updates from ifi. Over a week ago The support staff asked for my address for a return label which I still haven’t received, they are radio silent again. Almost at the end of my return period (almost a month long saga at this point) and ifi still hasn’t addressed this issue. Guess I’ll have to return it to the vendor. Disappointed is an under statement.
