What is the latest version?Been 2 updates to the Nexis app already - apart from the firmware update, connectivity (via the app) seems to have improved. Can even turn the Phantom on/off via the app.

Unfortunately no tests of high bias electrostatics, which are certainly the norm for Stax.

The DCA Corina is 580v Pro Bias, same as all modern Stax, fwiw.Unfortunately no tests of high bias electrostatics, which are certainly the norm for Stax.

Hey - so I was primarily using the DCA Corina with that during my review, but I'm not sure exactly what/how @DiFazio had plugged in for that B-roll shot (Matt is our video wizard and has really taken our production about ten levels up from where we started). My experience with Corina (seconded by a couple folks who tried other headphones, including Stax at our CanJam booth) is that you really need the preamp set to high gain AND a input source using balanced that's giving you at least 4V input into the Phantom. I did some more testing after we made the video, and with the right combination, it seems like 60-65% volume was a good listening level with Corina. So it should be good for high bias electrostats.May be but this is shown plugged in to the normal bias output.

I'm in the process of writing my full review for HiFi Pig - but I can say that it is one excellent amp.
Testing with the Audeze CRBN, HiFiMAN Susvara, Sennheiser HD660 S2, Grado SR80i, Beyer DT880 600Ohm and more it just powers everything with ease.
XBass works well for those headphones that need a little boost, iEMatch is great for sensitive headphones when using a balanced input into the amp, the ESL stage works superbly with the Audeze CRBN (even if electrostats are not my thing).
Powers the Susvara with ease and sounds fantastic whilst doing so.
Pretty much all the amp anyone needs, it won't replace a nice OTL tube amp with some headphones, but it's one to have alongside that and it makes an excellent reference amp in solid state mode (super clean and detailed).
In your review I hope you can comment on the function of the remote app. I can't get it to work consistently. Sometimes the app mirrors the display of the Phantom, sometimes it doesn't. The app references connecting via wifi but only connects via bluetooth. Anyway, if you could shed some light on how the remote app works for you it would be appreciated.I'm in the process of writing my full review for HiFi Pig - but I can say that it is one excellent amp.

It took a couple of goes to pair my phone.
Yesterday this button allowed be to switch between B and S, today it only let me connect via B (Bluetooth) initially.
But I turned the amp off and reopened the app and it's back online.
Both remotes work the same (B/S) but in S mode it mirrors the display like you said.

Full review is now up: https://www.hifipig.com/ifi-audio-ican-phantom
I am very pleased to see this review of the Phantom. When the Phantom was first announced and demoed at shows I was very skeptical and did not like the look of it. However, I bought one anyway out of curiosity. I must say that the reviewer got it right. This compact, low heat, unit does so many things and does them well. While it is not my main rig for e-stats and planars, I do use it quite a bit in an area where compactness is important. I have enjoyed listening to all my e-stats on the Phantom as well every other headphone I own. Plug a really good DAC into it and you could hardly ask for more. I've even grown to appreciate the unusual, two-toned look.
