Ideally I would probably like something in between SE and XR with the bass shelf moved a little further down as I feel it sometimes affects the lower mids a bit much. (Well, there's always EQ)

You can do -2db at 150Hz(Q1.5) On both the ER4XR & ER2XR to have a sub bass focused sound.

No, those are newer. You can tell by the thicker stem on the earpieces.

Hi,
I need some help please! Here big Etymotic fan. I have the Evo, the ER4XR and the ER2XR.
The ER2XR I use when I am commuting to work, walking or in the underground to and from the office. I use them with the Etymotion Bluetooth adapter. I bought the March 2021 in Amazon USA. I am based in Spain.
The Etymotion worked perfectly until yesterday. Now the left channel is not working properly. If I press on the cable as shown in the picture, sound comes out perfectly. If I release, no sound. There is clearly something wrong with the cable. If I open up the cable, what will I find? Would it be easy to repair?
Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Hi guys I have a question about the white triple flange tip. Somehow I got way more treble with it on my ER3SE. Turns out it has more wide opening on the top than the small frosted one. Is it how it should sound or the small frosted one is more "correct" tip for it ?

Are these both brand new Etymotic eartips? That shouldn't be the case.

It's not but I heard the difference when they were new. Big white triple flange has more detailed sound for me. Might be my narrow ear canal that squished the tip of the small frosted one?

It might be more likely that the big white one has expanded with use. I suppose it's possible that your ear canal squished the small frosted one, but that would surprise me a bit.

When both are new, they have the same hole diameter.

About 2 years ago my 10+ year old ER4P got dropped, run over and crushed. I've tried many other IEMs and found 2 that I love with a super dynamic sound (Campfire Dorado and Ikko OH10), but there are many times I've missed the super-clarity of the ER4. In the past 2 days I've bought a used ER-4P and registered for the Ety ER2/3/4XR package on Facebook -- Maybe I'll hit the jackpot!!
