Hey there,
cable to my ER4SR finally gave up, so i tried to swap for ER2XR one, really strange thing happens. Its seems, like SR are now way more bassy and i mean really bassy, on par with ER2XR, if i switch on my EQ for SR i have set up, its actually distort!
Whats goin on? Can anyone confirm, or im hallucinating?

I’m assuming the ER2XR cable has resisters in the cable then.

I don't think there's any resistors in the cable of either ER2 or newer ER4, as I know they now impliment it in the shell itself.
I can’t think of any reason that the ER2XR cable would have more bass then otherwise.

I just replaced faulty 3,5 jack on SR cable and can confirm that ER2XR connected to SR cable, sounds like, well, more like ER4SR, just a tiny bit bassy!
So there must be definitely something goin on with the cables!
Does anyone have ER2XR and ER4SR to swap cables and check, test, if this is really true?

Don't wanna make any conclusions, but I think its just a placebo.

Why should i?
Anyone could try.
Maybe my ears are **** up, thats why i want to confirm.
Fact is, that ER2XR sound way more brighter on SR cable than im used to (have to change filters to brown due to overly dark sound on original cable).
I mean overal presentation is different, im not saying that quality of sound is a same.

I can confirm that there are no resistors in the ER2 or ER4 cable.

Hi @EtyDave - did you manage to find an answer to the missing long stem triflange tips? Will they ever be back in stock again? :xf_cool:

I did check, but it's been such a long time that I don't remember the answer. I just got back from a rare vacation, so I'm getting caught up. I'll check back in on this tomorrow. I believe we do have these.

The cable was supposed to have ear guides. :triportsad:

Who’s your go-to for custom-length cables? I’d like to get an asymmetric cable.
